skid plate for a 04 passat wagon

My plastic one is kinda destroyed and i live in michigan so i ve been looking for one that is good and have a few question, which ones are the best (that's probably more of an opinion) and what about oil changes, is there one where there can be a latch or something to open to do an oil change or can it be dropped easily to do the oil change?

I used one from Kerma. Great plate. Kind of easy to remove. Very needed on these cars.

I am in MI as well (Manchester area) and was also looking for a strong plate to protect my Passat. After reading about solutions in this forum, I purchased the Evolution Thor Skid Plate For B5/B5.5 Passat. As big3snv stated it is easy to remove for oil changes, etc. The install was very straight-forward as well.

I have the evolution plate on mine as well. Great piece, that has saved me a few times.

We have DieselGeek's Panzer Plates on both the Golf and the Passat. Great fit and easy to install.
