I've had it for a few years and they don't give existing customers any discounts on their primary account. I just pay once a year and don't worry about it. BUT have heard that if you tell them that you won't be renewing your subscription, they might offer a temporary discount (3-6 mth) just to keep you. I don't like like arguing over a few $$ so I just pay the full price every year.

Definitely tell them you want to cancel as you think their rates are too expensive.

They will pretend to not care and process the cancellation and then offer you a reduced price. I got mine 50% off for a full year.

I subscribe to the US company and simply call and threaten to cancel each year. I've never paid more than $77 USD for a year for the past 5 years.

The bonus with the US sub is that you get all the channels. In Canada, they block content to maintain a ratio of French to English channels to keep the CRTC happy.

If you like Stern, you may consider tuning in to Opie and Anthony in the mornings when Stern is not live.

Edit: Nevermind, for some stupid reason, Opie and Anthony are not available to Canadian Sirius subscribers but it is available to Canadian XM subscribers. Just get a US sub and don't worry about the CRTC telling you what you should be listening to.

Just renewed mine for $20 for 5 months. That is a price I'm willing to spend for some random 80s ;-)

i have got the five for $20 twice now too.
just keep threatening to cancel near the end of the five months, telling them the full price is too expensive and they will offer the same deal again.
or have for me so far anyways.
read on another forum for another vehicle, of a fellow who has gotten the 5 for $20 with autorenewal every 5 months. thats what i am going after next time.

I have been thinking about getting Sirius, but I'm very finicky about clutter in my car, I hate wires going here and there and things looking like they don't belong... I take my GPS down WHENEVER I don't have a need for it.
Does anyone have any photos of their "slick" setup for their vw? Where do you have the tuner module; where did you put the antenna?

Also, how do you subscribe to the US "version" do you need a US address/PO Box?

Good call! That's my exact reason why I haven't bothered with it just yet. I don't even have a GPS for that reason too. I just use my phone and away I go...any pics would be great :)

If you get a deck that's satelite ready, then all you need is the module and that goes behind the dash.

hmm...not really into decks personally however is there such a cable that goes at the rear of the HU and somehow offers this feature without going aftermarket?

I'm not aware of this.

I guess you'll have to stick with terestrial radio then.

***Double posted by mistake on Main Ontario Post***

I bought my Jetta in September and the free trial expired at the beginning of January. I received this email yesterday. Hope it helps someone out. I plan on calling today to see if they will do something for a whole year.
