Vw gave us SIRIUS for the first 3 months, then SIRIUS renewed at a very low rate.
I took the renewal but my time is almost up.
Anyone know if there is another special renewal rate ?

Best advice is to haggle with them. Then, after they make you their "best offer", tell them it's to expensive and that you will just cancel your service. Then they will get serious and make you even better offers. If you actually let your service lapse, they will continue to make you better and better offers. Many members here have signed up for Sirius at US$77 per year. The trick is to not take their first "best offer" and continue to tell them that you can't afford it. Good luck!

Have Fun!

I just got a call from them today to renew my subscription. They gave me $5/mo for six months. After six months they said to give them a call for any special rate available. Just give them a call.

Sirius called me at 9 AM on a Saturday morning after working until 2AM... I don't think they will be giving me any special offers! I felt a little bad for the lady on the receiving end of that call. Just a little...

I thought it was 3 months free, but I'm at a few days over 4 months now and it still works. Maybe I somehow got 6 months? Haven't received any phone calls yet either...

My buddy had Sirius on his car as a "trial" and he ended up having it for 3 years before they cut it off. Of course they then sent him a bill for ~300 bucks but since he didn't sign up for the service they had to go pound sand.

They offer a one time cost lifetime subscription if you ask for it. A coworker got it for $500 and some change two years ago. I called last month when my 90 days expired and it was offered at close to $800! I decided to listen to the local talent and discovering new stuff on the HD channels I hadn't heard before.

When my Sirius expired, I called asking for a much better rate. I was told there was no other rate available ($12 a month) based on my VIN. I asked what that was all about and was politely told "all our specials are VIN based in our system". I called the next day, spoke with a different operator and got the $77/ 12 month deal. Sounds like they are just as messed up as any other company.

I waited until they renewed on XM and then called to cancel on my wife's Altima. When they asked why I was cancelling I told them it was due to cost. They then offered me a year at $77.00 which I took.
I plan on doing the same with my Jetta's Sirius Radio. I let it expire after the first 3 months and told them the cost was to high. At that time they offered 6 months for $32.50 which I accepted. Next ordeal with them will be after 2/17/2012 when the 6 months will have expired.

Just got an email with a 6 month offer for $25. Try telling the representative you received an email, but can't find it, with a 6 month for $25 offer.

Yeah - I've been ignoring them since my subscription ran out last Sept. Then in the mail today they told me they were giving me free access for the first two weeks in February, with an option to pick up the next 6 months for $25.

The less you want it, the harder they try ...
