2003 VW Jetta 1.9 Diesel GLS , Five Speed Standard Shift
Dont recall the valve or name of the part . My 2003 Jetta TDI shutters after I shut off the ignition . Anti shutter valve ?

2001 golf tdi 4 door auto now a manual, mine, 2000 golf 2 door M/T son's,daughters 98 NB non-TDI 2.0, 2003 TDI NB for next daughter, head repaired and on road,glutton for punishment got another tdi 2001NB,another yellow tdi NB , added an 06 NB DSG
Yes , it’s called the ASV ( anti shudder valve )
Vacuum operated for a couple of seconds then opens via the diaphragm plunger on the side.

Check make sure it has vacuum when it shuts down.

Check vacuum hose doesn’t have a rub though.

Check that the diaphragm is intact with a mittyvac or equivalent.

Check that the little tube isn’t broken off where the vacuum hose attaches.

And make sure that the valve isn’t stuck open , that you can manually move it.

Thanks. I have replaced everything up there lines etc. , havent checked anything lately , just kinda showed up recently. Will check lines etc.

Shutters are something hung aside your domicile windows for hornets to nest behind. Shudder is what you do when you remove them to paint, especially on the second story

Shudder is something you might experience when walking a 4" steel beam 200ft. in the air with nothing on either side and nothing below except the ground, haha
