This will be the 1st Holland vs Denmark in the WC match. Many of us still remember the EURO '92 when Holland then the defending champion lost to Denmark in the semi-final in the penalty shoot-out. Denmark then became the EURO '92 champ by beating the German in the final.

Cheers all the best to Denmark on Monday 7/14 @ 7:00 am EST

Yes I did. Last meet between Holland vs Italy was in Euro 2008. I forgot who won that game and what the score was....

Btw, what does FIGC stand for?

Is there some kind of tournament going on right now? :D

I'd love to fly my colours, but none of the countries from my heritage or my wife's are in the tournament. So, I'll cheer for North Korea! Isn't it funny, there have been World Cup outings where both Koreas have eliminated Italy...should be an interesting experience this time around.

Meh, I guess I'll go for Germany...closest thing to the Austrian part of me that has a chance to win. So far most games have been meh. The USA/England game was fun, though. :)

Two to nil for the dutch!

I'm with TDIPower and Heavyfuel cheering for the Netherlands. Although I was born in Canada, both my parents are from Holland.

I suppose being half English I ought to be loyal and support them, but they have been major disappointments since 1966 so I think I would rather root for Argentina as they are at least exciting to watch! (and their women are hot too!)

i think that if they reduce the size of the field by half - these games would be A LOT more interesting
Yeah, and instead of a ball, they use a puck. And do it on ice insead of grass. That would make it even more exciting :D.

But seriously, I would enjoy the games more if it was a full contact sport. That way, when they dive & grab their shins, they might actually be hurt :p.

Quick fact: England last won World Cup in 1966, Toronto Maple Leafs last won Stanley Cup in 1966-67 season. Who's going to win their next championship first? :D

For those who have watched the games, have you been as annoyed by the "horns" as the media is playing up? Honestly, they don't bother me as much as they do others...just sound like they have monster mosquitoes flying around down there.

Those Jabulani balls are the worse I've ever seen. They just run away from the players just as if they're playing on the artificial turf.

Off course, German players have no problems handling the Jabulani ball because of the close ties with Adiddas. So they have the Jabulani ball advantage

German league has been usin those balls during the last season, so anyone playing in Germany would have a season of experience

Adidas only provided those balls to the Bundesliga and none to the Dutch Ere Divisie, English Premier League, Italian Serie A, Spanish Primere Liga etc., since they want Germany to do well in the tournament. I just hope it wont backfire.

Honestly, I really hope that Holland wins it this time around! I think they deserve it with the effort they've put in.

Although, it was nice watching Germany and Argentina today. Germany vs Holland!!

There was no secret conspiracy here. The Germans were just smart enough to start using it to prepare for FIFA. It was also used in other tournaments and other leagues. The US has been using it, too.

Typical Brasilian fans who are bunch of sore loosers. They're just like coach Dunga and some of the players who refused to shake hands, change shirts after the game with the Dutch players, coach, and staff.

Which other leagues and tournaments were these balls used? I don't believe these balls were used in the Dutch Ere Divisie, English Premier League, Champions League, 2008 European Cup etc.
