When I scan my my 2007 Eos (2.0T gas) with my VCDS, an error will be logged like this:

1 Fault Found:
00003 - Control Module
014 - Defective
Freeze Frame:
Fault Status: 01101110
Fault Priority: 5
Fault Frequency: 1
Reset counter: 184
Mileage: 24567 km
Time Indication: 0
Date: 2000.00.00
Time: 12:59:38

Where is the date and time stored? In the ECU? Is there any way to set the correct time and date? Thanks.

In 2007 all PQ35 models (except the Audis) did not support a date, hence the 2000.00.00 (= No Date available). The time it gets from the instrument cluster - if you think that one is wrong instructions on how to correct that can be found in the vehicles owners manual... ;)

In my mk5 Jetta, I could adjust the time via the radio (i.e. changing the radio time changed the time on the instrument cluster).

Maybe I should have been a little more clearer on my clock question. I was wondering if the ecu had its own clock, much like it has its own odometer that is independent of the one in the instrument cluster. :p
