Serpentine Belt

I need to replace the serpentine belt in my 2003 Jetta. On rock auto I have the option of getting a belt with or without air conditioning. Not quite sure what is meant by this. I'm assuming it has to do with the belt running the AC compressor. Which belt should I get?

I assume that all of the 2003 Jettas came with factory AC. So, get that belt.

It should be the one with AC (if you have AC). It's always best to use a VW part number as reference, especially with places like Rock Auto.

I also see belts that come with and without a solution kit. Never heard of a solution kit before. Thoughts?

I don't know what that means. Here is the correct part. Use the MFG number to cross ref or better yet, just buy it from IDPARTS.

If your belt seems to have failed prematurely, take a good look at the alternator pulley, tensioner and any rollers for damage or resistance.
I'm curious about this solutions kit thing, what's in it? Rock Auto sells a lot of parts, some good, some not so good.

I don't think an mk4 Jetta came to the U.S without a/c. So, definitely pick the a/c option.
