Greetings...I purchased a new Passat TDI SEL and am wondering if anyone has suggestions for seat covers. I'm a bit concerned about the seats becoming dirty due to the light color and design. Any suggestions is appreciated.

Thanks,

Chris

I go with an old folded bath towel. I suppose it's not a solution for everybody. ;) But recall how important a towel is, in the Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Good thing to have...

I have been looking into the caltrend and coverking seat covers. I ordered some coverking open mesh covers. I can try to post a pic after I get them on.

I have the wet okole seat covers and am very pleased with the fit and finish.

Pics of Seat Covers installed

I've had my 13 Passat for about 6 months now and have noticed my blue jeans rubbing off on the tan interior seats. What are some of you doing for seat covers? For those that have already responded, will you post some pics of the seat covers installed? Thanks!

Not saving them for the next owner; just hate the way they start to look once blue jeans transfer to them. I'm pretty OCD about keeping my cars clean. Should've gotten the black interior but it's too late for that.

Do the Wet Okole or Cover Kings slip over the existing leather?

I had wet okole on my old vehicle and loved them. I am considering them on my Passat. I assume the neoprene wet okoles will not cause problems with the heated seats?

Sounds like you need to upgrade to Levi's. Kidding. I always sway with this dilemma also. Do you keep your seats clean (for the next owner) or are you just maintaining or minimizing damage to your baby now.
I would try to clean them. Is it Dynamica (or whatever the fake suede)?

Also funny quick story,,, I ordered and went to pick up my Black Passat TDI SEL with Corn-silk interior. My wife. My kids. Well, the kids got climbing around the back seat. My son put a black footprint in the rear seat within 5 minutes. Finger prints all over the black exterior. That car went from look friggin fabulous to crappy in under 10 minutes flat. So... scrapped that and went Reflex Silver with a medium gray (forget the vw term) interior.

The Dynamica is supposed to be easy to clean. I seem to recall, drop of dawn in a gallon of water... soft brush... blot dry.

Had those on my Jetta JSW TDi, they looked great after 5 years of use (took them off once or twice / year and threw them in the washer.) Will probably get the same ones for the new Passat - much more comfortable in the summer heat than the pleather.

After a year on the 2013 and 40K miles, with a light gray interior, mine still looks great.
Unless you don't like the color, stay with what you bought.
The seats seem to be holding up pretty well although I do have a cheap set of covers I'll use during the fall/hunting season.....

I had coverking on a van,,, wasnt that impressed. Especially at 200 for the front seats. The material was great. The fasteners that keep it from slipping and sliding around svcked. They would be sideways after a few times of getting in/out.

Based on the responses, I think I'll pass on the seat covers and just stick with the towel I'm currently using. No sense spending $200+ on seat covers when the towel works just fine. Thanks for the responses.
