Thanks very much for the spreadsheet!
Could you add two more scatter charts for the people that have had their buy back and owned their car and another one for the people that financed?

Never mind only people that have paid off their loans have a buy back date.
I don't actually own the thing - I just publicize it as it is incredibly useful to us to have something to point to. Thus I don't really have the ability to many any of those sorts of changes. There is a comments button on the upper right where you can suggest things to the person that does own it.

If you want to fiddle with numbers in more detail, you can download into Microsoft Excel and tweak to your heart's content.

I hope he does not have to be present because he never gets his home time when hes suppose to so, i hope that wont be an issue. Its already gona be an issue with getting noterized and waiting for him to get here and having a notery around on a sunday which is usually when he gets home

So like my docs got the green check today how fast are they normally with the offer letter? Fast turnaround or not? I'm in FL I'm military on vacation in my hometown and I'm getting ready to go on deployment very soon. It would suck to have to leave this with my wife she's German doesn't know anything about this car stuff really...

That is the subject of a great deal of discussion. It seems that people without loans are seeing quick turnaround, those with loans are not.

It's been more than 10 working days since our docs were approved. Today I called them, and after waiting about 20 minutes for a live person, the following was said:

"It's been more than 10 working days since our documents were approved, when can I expect my offer letter?"
"Well we're up to 30 working days now, but haven't had time to update the site with that information."
"The court agreement stipulated 10 day turnarounds, right?"
"right"
"So why have you increased it to 30 days?"
"We're really backed up."
"But the court agreement said 10 days."
"We're trying our best."

So 30 is the new 10.

Call the judge and raise hell, folks. I tried that too but couldn't seem to find a number that went through to a live person.

Got my docs today, printed them out, notarized at work, scanned in by noon. At 5pm got the email to schedule turn in, set for 12/8.

The schedule page lets you change the dealership you chose originally. It lets you search by distance from a zip code. i used a separate window to show dealers within 100 miles, and then went down the list on the registration page in order until I found the closest dealer with an agreeable date. The closest dealer was booked till Feb. I'm driving to the third closest dealer, but got Dec 8th.

It has you print out an odometer statement to sign, a power of atty if one owner can't be at the turn in, and a checklist. Some dealers had Saturday appointments, just not soon enough for me.

This is my biggest fear about the process dragging on - that every nearby dealer will be booked solid for months. I have five dealers within 100 miles (and two more at 103 and 128), so I'll have options at least; I'm sure the ones closer to Raleigh will book up fast.

There is also talk about starting to take appointments more than one day per week at some dealers. If they start doing that, it will open up new possibilities.

Guys, anyone having that annoying error message popping out? Everytime I try to log in and schedule my buyback, I get an error prompting me to call the 1-800 number.Spoke with a customer care rep and they are escalating it to IT. WTH?
And yes, before some might ask, I have tried 3 computers and my phone, clearing up history, cookies etc, different browsers...same crap.Even changed password as suggested by the rep.

Could there be a possibility that I could be messing up VW's anticipated weekly/monthly buyback scheduling when I'm waiting to choose a date when my factory ordered Subaru comes in? My factory order Subaru could come in late Dec through mid Jan. If VW moved with a purpose after the settlement was finalized, then I wouldn't be caught in TBD date for a locked-in buyback appointment and a TBD factory order Subaru arrival. Once the Subaru gets in, then scheduled the buyback appointment.....turn in the car......rent a car hopefully no longer than 3 days due to the EFT 3 business days rule, then lastly take the buyback money and pay the Subaru in cash with the peace of mind having no monthly payments WITH clean title/no lien.

The whole system of scheduling buy backs will totally unravel, and when it does, we will all blame you......:D

No, more likely, the open slots will just be filled by someone else who will take your place.

Gee, why is nobody complaining that appointments can be made faster than provided for in the Settlement?

The very, very few buyback appointments that have been scheduled are happening within the parameters of the settlement. They don't deserve an attaboy for that.

I just set my appointment for Dec 27th (the 1st date available for my preferred dealer) so it looks like VW will be giving me a Christmas gift a couple days late!

I got my buyback appointment set for December 7 @1:30pm. I then read where some were getting their times changed by an hour. Sure enough I went back and looked at mine, and it had changed by an hour. I checked on it again the other day, and it was back to the original time again. I guess I'll just show up at the earliest time? I'll be glad when the check is in the bank
