The ScanGauge thinks your tank is empty. When is the last time you went through the fill up screen? That is the only way it knows how much fuel is in your car.
Yea, that works now, not sure what I was doing wrong...

Gauges I use are K2E (kms 2 Empty), Bst (Boost), LHK (Litres per 100kms), and TrT (transmission Temp), or Voltage.

Didn't get a chance to take a photo, but I had saved the settings I used.

Boost in PSI:
TXD: 68 6A F1 01 0B
RXF: 04 41 85 0B 00 00
RXD: 28 08
MTH: 00 91 00 64 FF 70

I tried these settings on my 2010 Golf TDI and they did not work. I am not getting a MAP number either. AFAIK, you need a MAP reading to get the xgauge boost to work. Is that correct? Why am I not getting a MAP reading

nj, can you get a water temp reading with your SG? I have version 3.01 on mine, and neither my SG or my Vag Com can read it.

That's correct, the boost gauge code uses the MAP information in its calculation. Strange how you don't get a reading. Maybe the 2010 Golf doesn't support it?

the transmission temp works on your '00? It worked on my '05 but not my '03
Yep, works fine, I only use it when towing my trailers though...

Anyone know what the normal operating range is for an 01M transmission in Fahrenheit?

Ok, so I have a 2010 Golf TDI and a sg2, am I to understand that boost or map does not work on the new cars?

I dont know much about how to program the scangauge so if someone has a step by step dummy guide that would be awesome.

water temp definitely works on a 2010 JSW. I don't see why it wouldn't work on a 2010 Golf too.

I tried this on my 10golf and got it to work, however the SG read 165 and the dial on the dash read 190...

still trying to figure out what else to display. or other xgauges to use since boost does not work.

That is correct. Your dash will be at 190 when sg reads 160. Your dash will also be at 190 when sg reads 210.

Dash won't tell you as much to lessen dealer complaints about temp fluctations.

How about coding to have the scangauge read tire pressure? I know that with tpms, it reads in bar, anyway to get this to read out as a xgauge?

What model do you have?

If the ECU can see the TPMS then it should be possible. IF you have a car like mine with no TPMS or one that the ECU cannot read the data, I can't see how it would be possible.

Do you think if I contact ScanGauge directly they will be able to help. I really do not want to buy and install a boost gauge.

You should really consider a real boost gauge. The boost gauge on the Scangauge compared to a real boost gauge is like sitting in the basement and watching the weather network to find out the current conditions compared to going outside.

real boost gauge would be nice, but even with some delay, it would be nicer yet to see what the boost levels and peak boost are on the SG2, without having to modify the vehicle and plumb lines + buy more hardware.

Isspro or Autometer, check out egauges.com they have the pods too.

There are a couple good threads with pics showing various places to tap for the boost fitting. Search thread titles for "boost"

Problem is that the Scangauge does not show peak boost, only instantaneous boost sampled at 2 or 3 times a second so it is very hard to capture the peak. Even then, it does not record the peak and there is no way to program it to do that.

I agree it is nice to not have to modify the vehicle, but trust me after you modify successfully you will wonder why you did not install a boost gauge sooner. Put another way: I don't think you will find anyone who regrets successfully installing a boost gauge.

I would recommend a complete kit like the Mk4 Diesel Pod on this page:

http://www.newsouthperformance.com/Mk4pod.htm

It comes with a choice of a 0-30psi VDO gauge or their "exact match" Indigo 0-35 psi Gauge for a few more dollars. I have the VDO with this kit that purchased from a local vendor.

Here is how to install it on an ALH motor:2001 VW Golf TDI Boost Gauge Installation

I have been trying this for over a year. All I get is 594 and it doesn't go up or down. Trust me I typed it in 200 times already I entered it right. 99.5 golf

Do you have a reading for MAP on the Scangauge?
Yes I do. Shows around 14 on idle which is just about right for atmospheric pressure for my location. Goes up with boost but it's always boost plus 14ish
