Saw something different. (Passat TDI related)

This morning I saw a new Passat TDI at a redlight. As I got closer I saw it had Tennessee plate. (not a common site in Upstate NY) As I got even closer I saw that the plate said "MANUFACTURER" on the bottom.

Soooo.... What was that? Anyone know?

Those car are own by the manufacturer..so they are giving mostly to tester and technicians to test the cars..also to writers, editors, to write about the car..like you see in magazines articles, tv and more.

Or it is companies that work with them on aftermarket products.

I had a friend who worked for ARB Offroad and they would get Jeeps to modify from the Company with Manufacturer plates from Michigan.

Could also be a testing mule for all different types of climates long-term...

I saw one at my vw dealer yesterday and the driver said it is
the trainer vehicle for two out of three dealerships in the las vegas area. Pretty much just a car to drive and experience all the changes and to get "learned" on.
