I'm looking for the safe torque for the stock PD connecting rods (the one from 101/115PD, not the 131/150/160hp PD). I'm using them in my setup - AFN engine bored to 2.0L with 2.0L PD pistons.

And I'm wondering what is considered safe for the rods? I'm currently running 350Nm wtq and I suppose ~370Nm-380Nm engine torque. And I want to keep it safe. Any recommendations are welcome.

I remember reading something about 400Nm engine torque. But couldn't find the source of that information.

For an ALH if you keep the wtq at 300 or less ft-lbs., you should be fine. Over that and your risk increase.

So, if your around 300 ft-lbs., you should be o.k. (Convert Nm to ft-lbs. and see what you come up with)

There are a few PD100/115 running with ~500NM on stock unopened bottom ends. Depends on the tune...

Running 500Nm on the stock rods seems pretty risky to me. I doubt they will survive long with this torque. It will be interesting if somebody open a stock bottom end that was producing 500Nm and share the results.
