"Rocketchip" Performance Tuning Event November 14, 2009 @ 8AM Central Ohio

Jon's Auto LLC is proud to present the return of Jeff from "Rocketchip" (www.rocketchip.com) to our newly remodeled shop. The event will be held on Saturday November 14, 2009 @ 8 AM. We will be doing chip tuning, injector installs, and other minor work if necessary. As always, we offer complimentary VAG-COM.

This will be a first come first serve event or you may drop off your car Friday evening or Saturday morning and avoid the wait.

Tuning session location is:

Price Range:
$300-$345 depending of year of TDI and tune choice

Hopefully the Clutch I ordered on Sept. 11th will be arriving one of these days.

As long as that happens and everything goes ... I should like to attend this one.

I would be interested in getting a Rocket chip tune as well, and I see everyone refering to RC1, RC2, etc.

Is there somewhere that they list the differences between these tuning jobs ?

I WILL have my TDI running with the gt2256v by this date, I WILL be driving my TDI to Jon's, and I WILL be needing an RC update!

I am hoping to make it just to hang out for awhile, I am not *planning* to spend any money.

I have a friend with an Audi A4 1.8T and he has been talking about getting it chipped. Does anyone have any reviews of Rocketchip on the 1.8T? I looked around on VWVortex but couldn't find anything.

Jeff can do the 1.8Ts last I remember....I think you can get a remap and take the stock ~150bhp or ~180bhp (depending on yr.) to about 210-ish with little else done..

I'll be there but I'm not going to throwing sales pitches. I can bring a dp or two if someone wanted me to though.

Cojones - Yeah, Jeff can do 1.8T's. He did my friend's passat at my gtg. Big difference! Just call him before hand with your computer code so he can make sure he brings the right software.

Can Jeff get the RC tune to run the glow plugs at 5 volts for the new steel 5v plugs that are now the replacement part for PD's? If the dealer cannot resolve our problem I may need to look into this. Our car (2005 BEW) was re-flashed with updated software in the Emissions Service Action 24P5/P9 recall but kept its 7 volt Bosch glow plugs (24P5/P9 does not change out gp's) except for one 5v steel plug they put in. But the gp system is sending 7 volts to the gp harness (tested while disconnected off of gp's), and I need this to be 5 volts I think, so I can install a complete set of the new 5 volt gp's.

Well depending on when I get my car running and if Jeff has time at the WI GTG to take a peak at my car I might also be attending to get all the kinks worked out of my car. 6 spd swap, PD150 parts, FMIC, etc.

Whelp, it's official... none of the above is going to happen.

I've been away for work for 12 days total since I posted this.
Last weekend I had to do front bearings, and both axle shafts on my B4V.
I'm gone to Madison, WI for the next four days.
I'm gone the entire weekend of Nov 7th.
Sooo, the Jetta will NOT be finished by Nov 14th. Bastards.

However, I still may be able to join the festivities, just in the boring ol' B4V.

And to top that off... It'll probably not get a RC tune in her until sometime in 2010 either, as I just found out that I have a over 3 week startup for work near Barranquilla, Columbia starting Nov 30th. Bastards x 2.

What kind of mileage are you getting now? With my driving style I maybe lost a mpg or 2, but then again I have a heavy right foot. I would say if you drove more conservatively you wouldn't see a loss in mpg. I know after I got my car tuned by Jeff it was hard to not get into it every now and again for fun.
