Guys I have the RNS 510 display unit and I'm really getting annoyed by the lack of sensitivity in entering data. There is a lag of about 1.5sec in actually registering the key that I press. I've searched the manual back and forth for a solution and haven't had any luck. Do any of you know of a remedy to increase the screen sensitivity/reduce the lag time?

What are you going to do...Not buy the car just because the GPS has a 1.5 second entry delay? I have a $2,700 optional GPS in my wife's C-300 and I wish it worked as well as the one in the Passat. But none of them are as good as my Garmin Zumo. Why the manufacturers just don't make a deal with Garmin is beyond me. Better product and much better value.

Chrysler has integrated Garmin in some new products, BMW, Honda and others will sell you Garmin PNDs integrated into the car electronics. Fiat does the same with Tomtoms you can even operate with the steering wheel buttons, Volkswagen has just started using Navigons on the up! as the only available nav option.
And ultimately, Kenwood will sell you a nav system running Garmin software that is shaped just like a VW factory system:

Here in the good ole USofA, there are very little cars with Garmins: and those are just your normal Nuvi in a snazzy mount/bracket. Suzuki SX4, Smart and that's about it for factory Garmins.

I want to buy the VW specific Pioneer or Kenwood from EU, but I want the radio to work here and they use DAB vs our XM/Sirius. It makes the RNS510 look like a 8 track player.( well almost) Too bad Pioneer n Kenwood don't want to sell em here. Can bus works, radio controls all work and your MFD works too.

That's very strange.... Volkswagens are not THAT exotic even in North America, so why don't Kenwood and Pioneer sell their VW specific systems over there?
