A jumper can be made to run the fuel pump from the fuse box if needed IIRC. Discussed in some threads here. But VCDS is the tool of tools when working on these cars. Mine has been very helpful to myself and some others that needed codes read.

More than likely but you may also be able to do it using the car controls too. Read the manual and see what it says. Different cars have different options enabled.

I don't know how different a 2014 JSW and a 2015 Jetta are but on my 2014 I reset that through the instrument cluster. Instructions in the owners manual

It is pretty simple to do a service reset with VCDS, there is a function in the software just for it:

Yes on my Wife's 2013 Golf R I reset the service light after oil changes. I have VCDS Hex Com
