It looks to be less power than a malone stage 1
Actually that really depends on how Revo is stating their numbers. If they are talking about at the wheels (which I suspect they are), it is actually closer to Mark's stage 2 tune plus a little more (a stage 2.25?). Malone publishes numbers both at the wheels and at the crank. Most tuners only measure at the wheels because that's the way dynomometers work. Nobody want to pull the engine (and all of it's electronics) out of the car to test it at the crank. The crank numbers are usually just "guesstimated" by multiplying the at-the-wheel measurements by a fudge factor. It is the numbers at the wheels that are really important.

Revo is a British company, but they do officially operate a US office. I'm just a bit surprised that they are taking the legal risk of offering a DPF delete tune in the US. They do actually make a good tune, my stage 1 Revo tune dynoed at over 300 ft-lbs on the first pull - with an intact emission system. Revo does know what they are doing when tuning diesels. They have been doing it for years in Europe. I can't say much good about their US office, but their tunes are actually quite good.

Have Fun!

So cr's are 140hp at the wheels stock you're saying?
Revo's website indicates brake horsepower. This is consistent with performance.

I emailed Revo about getting the stage 2 tune. They are not offering it in the US due to legal reasons. I requested they update their site to reflect this. It got my hopes up.

There was not a Malone tuner near me. Revo was the nearest to me at 2 hours away. Plus I like the SPS device that Revo offers.

This is why I have a Revo tune - dealer location.
FYI, I have the SPS but it has been in my glove compartment for years. I have never used it. With the diesel tune the only thing the SPS can do is to switch back and forth between stock and tuned maps. I have never had the need or desire to switch back to the stock maps.

I got a Revo tune yesterday as they currently have a sale going on and now do port tunes. I took a drive through the mountains today. Now this vw has woof!

As posted before Revo will not release any more then a Stage I in the US because companies are getting large fines in the US for deleting any emissions.

You might be able to get a CR Stage II out of the UK, if you have contacts there. I'm not sure those tunes are compatible with US ECU's

I agree with getting a Malone tune. It's a great company with unbeatable customer service!

According to the Revo website, they offer a stage 2.0 tune for TDIs WITH DPF delete.

I went to a Revo tuner today and he said that he would be open to doing the DPF/EGR delete with a Revo Stage 2.0 tune.

Anyone else have experiences about this that you can share?

Malone has more experience in the US with the TDI's. I spoke to Revo several times and they wouldn't do a DPF delete under any condition. I doubt they would have a DPF delete tune available in the US because of the liability.

I've had the Malone stage 2 and with the deletes for over 100000kms (60000miles for the non Canucks), and it was the best thing i ever did. Mileage went through the roof, power was there. Throttle response was incredible... and Mark Malone is an absolute gem to deal with. i've had a couple of updates on my stage 2, including the newest one that even wakes the car up more.
i know this thread is about Revo, but the stage 2 from ANYONE with the deletes is a freakin treat. just my 2cents.

I'm all ears when it comes to a Malone 2.0 tune! It's just that my local guru will need to keep the car for a week and charge me $2200 USD for DSG/Stage 2.0 Tune and delete the DPR/EPR.

The Revo tuning is cheaper. My Revo guy is going to investigate whether he can do the Revo 2.0 TDI tune with a signed "Offroad" statement from me.

I'll report back when I know more.

Please do your own research besides listening to your Revo guy. It might not be worth it to save a several hundred dollars.

The Malone Stage 2 with a delete and a DSG tune should take much less then a day.

Malone has done thousands of stage 2's. Please research this more before you come to your decision.

I have a Stage 3 custom tune from Mark Malone. Mark is also available by email direct. His dealers are allover the country.
Personally I haven't seen one negative comment about Mark Malone anywhere.

How recent was the update? I did my stage 2 last july, I wonder if there is an update available.

I did my stage II about the same time, so I'd like to know this as well.

I'd like a Malone tune, but my local Guru still has to send it out and it will take a week.

BTW, I live in North Carolina, if anyone has suggestions.

Check out Malone's website for local dealers.

I live in NY and had Andrew at FixMyVW.com do my tune, which is in Georgia. I overnight shipped it, he flashed the ECU the same day he got it and shipped it back overnight to me. My ECU wasn't even out of the car for 72 hours.

I just got an email from a local Guru who is associated with Revo tuning. Revo does not do any TDI tuning in the US for legal reasons. The email said that the EPA "actively" searches out DPF/EGR deleters.

I've never heard any reports of violators being caught. Anyone else?

This is true. I tried to explain this to you in post #18.
Revo has a international website and they do state they have a TDI Stage 2 but the won't do them in the US. The website is a little misleading.

Please note that you also need your DSG flashed.
1) Your Guru can rent the DSG hardware and he can re flash the DSG
2) Personally I would go to a Malone dealer nearest you.

Due to the torque limiter, a DSG tune is required. Can a local tuner do a DSG tune?
