replacing gas motor w/ tdi in passat?

hello. was just wondering the general opinion on replacing a gas motor w/ tdi in a passat wagon, and where i can get a tdi motor? AND how much a tdi motor costs new?

I am also bebateing oralmost ready to do this in a 95 passat glx wagon i just got. I have a wrecked '98 jetta tdi to do the swap with so thats what I want to do ...i am hoping the wiring swap is easy???
