replaced battery and got a surprise

My battery went dead on me last weekend. I also have had the speedo problem for a while which I could not get fixed and just lived with it. When I replaced my battery the speedo came to life and obviously the cruise also. I just replaced it today so I'm hoping that this is actually fixed for good, but time will tell. Just thought this could be useful to someone. If this has already been posted and the connection is ancient history. OOPS.

p.s. Everything is computerized, and computers don't like low voltages. This happens a lot with late model cars. The gadgetry has greatly outstripped battery development. It's a miracle to me that all the computer junk survives at all. If I look crosseyed at my PC, it crashes.

Get winblows 2K, stable as all get out. Mine used to work like you describe, changing to 2K fixed that, don't even know what blue screen looks like anymore.

2k doesn't put up blue screens, it just freezes
solid like the polar ice caps

I don't own a mac, so I can't use OS X, but I have seen it and it is quite nice.

I only have one computer, and my mom uses it....so you know what that means....No Slackware or FBSD on it

I don't even know what the new developments are anymore. Oh well, I am stuck with winXP...wich isn't all that bad I guess

. At least it hasn't crashed on me yet.
