I just picked up a 2013 wagon with 106K. Cylinder one has a bad injector. I trouble shot it by doing the following:
1. Checked the HPFP valve (located on top with two star bolts) and I did not find any metal shavings ....
2. Ran the vcds and found a bunch of codes (po2oa,p1004,p0301, etc) that pointed me towards #1 injector.
3. With the car running I pluged and unplugged #1 Injector wiring harness a couple of time without any change in the lumpy idle.
So the next step looks to be the replacement of Injector #1, I also will look at the cam lobes while I have the injector out.
So here is my question/dilemia. I come from the ALH world where the injectors last until the body rots away. I also believe in replacing a complete system when ever possible to avoid furture breakdowns. Unfortunately these injectors are quite expensive. So what do you suggest replace one or all four? Any idea on the lifespan of these injectors?
Thanks for your advice.
