That request is never out of line - anywhere!

Be with your mother - she who took care of you through thick and thin. May she rest easy and answer the call to come home when it arrives.

Hey Bruce,
We all face this at some point but that doesn't make it any easier. I'm not a praying man but my heart is with her and I wish you the best in this time. Hang in there. You've got friends.

Now this is sweet. 10yr-100k miles

The company will extend its New Vehicle Limited Warranty to cover the DSG(® )transmissions affected by the customer service program and the voluntary safety recall. This extended warranty is for 10-years/100,000-miles, transferrable to subsequent owners.

VWGoA is confident these actions will address issues noted by owners of the affected Volkswagen and Audi models. The DSG(®) gearbox is an industry leading technology that combines the fuel economy of a manual gearshift with the automatic shifting capacity of an automatic transmission.

Customers who have questions or concerns should call the Volkswagen Loyalty Center at 1-800-444-8982 or the Audi Customer Relations Campaign Help Line at 1-800-253-AUDI (2834).

that is great, is this only offered to those who had problems with the DSG related to the recall?

Yes, just those on the recall. I happily avoided the recall.

thanks all. she really was one of a kind. i will miss her greatly. i appreciate your kind words. as a side note she owned in 1978 a vw rabbit diesel that was in our family for a long long time. would not stop running until it was handed down to my nephew. he would but gas in it at least once a month. i could not stand the car. thought it rattled and smoked to much. thought diesel was a silly thing. huh, things change.

Volkswagen intends to not only provide alternative transportation for owners while their vehicle is in for service but to also reimburse owners who have had the issue previously fixed.
The company will also extend the transmission warranty of all vehicles involved to 10-years, 100,000 miles. The extended warranty will also be transferable. yep i missed it. That's something they should change to all DSG"S owner's. I hope someone or group challenges this as being
inequitable. Not a good way to do bussiness. dhal

Not good news. Our order was placed the end of May, we expected the car some time this month. Just found out that it may arrive the middle of November or the first week of December. Wonder if we should wait for the 2011 JSW? The wife sold both of our cars in anticipation of arrival this month. So we are traveling around in our truck at 10 mpg.

I spoke with my dealer today and they are getting about a dozen total JSW TDI's before the end of the year more or less. Shipments should start arriving the first week of October and then every month they should get 3-4 more.

My situation exactly. Wanted the 2009 but order got in just after production shutdown and there were no vehicles to fit my request, or even close. Plus, there was some inequitable distribution of TDI's by VWoA. One dealer on the East Coast had 44 TDI sedans on their lot. Then when Cash for Clunkers hit, all cars on the stocking system went "sold" and no dealers were trading .

So, I am getting a 2010 and it is queued for production :D and have the paperwork with the numbers on it. Approximate delivery date is end of October. It will make a good wedding anniversary present for myself. I got our house and gave the wife the papers on Valentine's Day. Maybe getting the 2010 will work out better as VW fixed some of the inequities in the 2009 (now with bluetooth and the multi-function steering wheel).

So now I pray that my 93 Jeep will hold out that long...

A sad good bye

I find it fitting after 2 years on this site daily to say goodbye on the thread that started it all. This car and this club has been a big part of my life. I have enjoyed them both so much. This club is truly something to be proud of Fred. I have sold my bike businesses and will be working from home and will not be traveling the 30 to 40 miles daily anymore and have purchase a BMW X3 AWD 6MT. As much as my MPG is cut in by 40 %, my weekly travel is cut by 70% and have purchased my dream car for the little travel I will be doing. My 09 as you will see is super clean, and a blast to drive. I will be checking in as this habit will be tough to let go. Want to thank a lot of awesome people like QSHIP,Tomo,Tornado,TT,MajorDJQ,NCVW97,LNXGUY,Darrenf,Indigo and SBA.

F1 I really hope you learn to relax and let your hard work and results do your talking. Good Luck.

At least I didn't buy a Prius.

Here is a link to my ad. Please no cracks on my 600 mile on a tank of gas mistake. I know the hammer falls hard and fast here. I will never forget my 1st or second post here went like this. " brought a Sportwagen with a 6 speed manuel". It took all of 2 minutes before my first post reply came in, and it went something like this " nice of VW to provide you a guy named Manuel with your car purchase."

2009 sportwagon 11,500 miles. no problems to date. just returned from driving down and back from the FL keys. from Morgantown, Pa the route is Pa. turnpike I-95 Fl turnpike to A1 so not economy driving. MPG 43.19 calculated. One short 75 mile trip in the keys did show 51.5 mpg. nothing over 50 MPG. the leg down 1450 miles 21.5 hrs straight thru. the seating was comfortable. the trip back 24 hrs following my son, who had a uhaul it tow. on one occasion I had traffic in front of me on I 95 come to halt while doing 75. the brakes were more than adequate. A great ride and handling for trips. dhal

The thread that started it all. Little did we know that the 447 pages and 6705 replies that encapsulated all the excitement we had for this amazing new Clean Diesel was nothing but a big VW farce.

No joke, man. I just traded mine in a month ago after 7+ years. Tired of the drama and just ready to move on.

The 2009s can't be that much worse than the 2012?? Of course they are three years older, and thus might be getting a bit long in the tooth for some now.
But it's still a wagon, with a diesel engine to boot - what's not to like?!!

HPFP failure with car suddenly decelerating into limp mode while my wife was driving to work a few months ago wasn't something I liked.

Yep, there's a definite chance of that. At least it doesn't lock up steering, and leaves you a fighting chance...
