I just got home from a quick drive to fill up my first diesel tank and when I got home in the garage and closed the door I noticed the JSW starting a regen. Is this safe to be done in a closed garage?

2009 6 manual Gone! V6 Mustang now.
With the car off, you are only seeing the cool down mode. No regen is taking place with the engine off.

And I think that there'd be a legal warning in the owner's manual if it was a problem...after browsing mine last night, it seems like nearly 1/3 of the manual is legal warnings!

Mine did the same thing. See the thread on my fan misbehaving. Dealer showed me a bulletin that describes this possible behavior.

The "regen" is the same as before. What is different is that the fan will run even if you shut off the motor. The fan could run for as long as 10 minutes to keep things cool under the hood.

Mine did this last night also. I let the fan run for a few minutes, but it didn't sound like any fan I've heard before, so I started the car and the fan turned off. The previous trip included sitting in a line at a drive thru taco shop for longer than I wanted, then drove surface streets home. 50 MPH was about all I did on the trip. Not much cooling I guess.

The fan shut off after 10 mins or so. I"m not too worried as I think it was just cooling the car down after a regen while I was driving.

So far so good..

I live in a condo building with 6 garages under the middle of the upper units.

If I happen to catch the car cooling down after a regen, I leave it outside for a bit. I don't want to take ANY chances that something I might park over in the garage could catch fire.

Ultra paranoia, but I'd feel really bad if I burned down 5 of my neighbors houses as well as my own.
