Well a success story for a bad truck driver! Me and my redneck buddy from Rockdale did the things most rednecks do, drink beer drive around red dirt roads spinning out, thats where you really learn to drive is sliding around on dirt roads. Trying to p/u Red Dirt Girls you know drinking beer shooting guns. Things like that. Well he got a CDL got a job for an oilfield company . In his short career he got in so many accidents he lost his license . He was down and out . Had to get another trade . Went to computer school and is now a Computer science executive for a well known company in Austin Texas! Who would have known. Small town Texas boy who made it big in the computer industry!

I think Louisiana drivers are far $hittier, but yeah, there are a lot of bad drivers here. Especially people from out west who don't know what these signs mean:

Yeh there’s a lot of ways of saying that, all over the continent, “Keep right except to pass” “Slower traffic keep right.”
I just use whichever side is smoothest, unless it interferes with traffic. If I’m in the left lane and somebody is coming up behind me I move over. But there isn’t much traffic in Saskatchewan anyway.

Haven't had a problem yet, but judging by the perpetrators' cars usually, I'm guessing they're mostly from CA and AZ, where hardly anyone legally has firearms.

Your right a large percentage of the left lane drivers are Hispanics . Probably Illegals that just dont know the rules of the road. I have noticed that. Believe me I know . I experience it every day. I dont think DPS is gonna care about it to much. My problem with the texters and people that block the passing lane is they are doing it for miles ! No problem someone pulls in front of you goes a while to pass or cant get over till they pass a group of cars, thats normal. Im talking about the ones that will not move over, they are texting completely oblivious to whats going on around them and block the lane for 5-10 miles and no one can get around them. You know they are texting, they are drifting all over the place. Im just trying to remind people to Drive Friendly !

Thankfully out here, Kerr and Kendall Counties out here are pretty diligent if I call to report someone being an asshat on the road Last time I reported someone who was not only lingering in the passing lane but literally passing imaginary cars, drifting into the shoulder, etc. So Kendall Co Sheriff pulled his ass over... in front of a bar. Wasn't past the legal limit, but he was still intoxicated. Apparently, others reported him driving like **** as well.

True that . You really have to take into consideration how you react when drivers do stupid Shiite. However you could become a victim of road rage unknowingly for whatever reason. Where I live its not uncommon to be involved in one to three near misses a day and thats not an exaggeration.
Normally I stay in the right lane at 70mph, but that doesnt stop some wahoo from passing me just to cut me off to make the exit ramp in front of me by a car length. Defensive driving now means carrying a firearm!

You have to have a horn to drive here in South Texas or you will perish like a squished Armadillo. I bought one of those Air Horns on Ebay with the small compressor about the size of a large pill bottle for about $25.00. These are loud, very loud. Easy to install. I just used clamp on elect. fittings to tie into my horn wires underneath the car and just ran the wires up in to the engine compartment . No drilling needed ,the compressor sits neatly behind the air filter box and i wire tie the horn right along side battery. So the stock horns work right along with your air horn. A couple of times I have almost caused people to crash when I hit the horn. One time a P/U raced to cut me off, I hit the horn and he must have thought a large truck was coming in from the far right lane because he swerved and almost hit the retainer wall. This horn is great for texters! You can tell when people are texting , so when I get up along side them I hit the horn! It startles them so bad Ive seen at least one person drop their phone. Of course when they are texting they dont know if they are drifting into your lane. So you can blast them whether their drifting or not .

I have a K5LA, which requires way more air than my crappy Viair compressor can put out for more than 1 second of sound), K3LA, which I can kinda change to a custom K2 with a block off plate that I somehow misplaced, and a single chime manifold with a Nathan 1L on it. That'll probably get used with the truck, and it's loud as f**k. Like out here, a quick blast and you hear the echo return about 500-750 milliseconds later!

Believe me this happens frequently. Dont know why. Sometimes I have to take action. I will be overtaking a slower car in the right lane ,Im in the left lane and some wahoo is coming up fast behind me and hes gonna go around me and cut me off no matter what , until I accelerate and block him and he has to slam on his brakes.! Otherwise hes gonna miss me by a car length or side swipe me cause he aint gonna slow down.

Oh that would be great. Youll probably make some people crap themselves. Thats my goal! Im not sure what type . Its been a few months since I looked at them and they are in storage. The person I got them from had the horns mounted on top of a medium size cooler. The wiring, relays and battery were in the cooler . They had it on their boat . So whenever someone moved into their fishing area they let em have it! This could be a truck horn I said a train horn. It has three horns attached to two flat bars and a compressor and tank about the size of an 18-pak give or take. Actually its still hooked up that way. I believe I will have just enough room to to put the horns under the hood of my Jetta and put the compressor /tank in my trunk. This will be a game changer on the road . There horns aren't made in China; they're the real deal, off an actual locomotive. Technically, I have bells two - one electric, one brass, also from locomotive/passenger car service, and some railroad crossings. Trains is my other hobby, and none of that stuff is from China.

A small compressor won't give you much time. Maybe a quick 1-2 second blast, and then 10 minutes to refill? I believe horns require a 3/4-1" feed going to them. Not so much the pressure, but the volume of air.

The single chime manifold I have would work great with the Viair. And my goal isn't to make people crap themselves, but more so for safety purposes. Sometimes regular horns don't cut it.

Dude, I've seen some truckers hauling some kind of liquid (probably refinery trucks) hauling @ss doing 85 or so down I-10 between El Paso and Kerrville. Makes me wonder about their tunes/mods, because you see some light coal rolling while they're flying up a grade faster than everyone else! I hate to imagine what those EGTs look like!

There's are 2 companies here that specialize in making high power rigs. One if them is owned by a Mennonite crew. I was dropping off some pistons we shaved and fly cut valves reliefs in. They had a in floor wheel dyno being installed. Had the owners kw on the dyno. The dyno was good for 1200 hp. Can't remember the torque rating. The guy doing the set up was pretty frustrated he couldn't get the engine to pull down like he thought it should. I keyed him in that, that truck was close to 1800 hp and his dyno wasn't gonna slow it down much at all. Had a c16 cat In it, twin turbo, decompressed, steel pistons, custome ground cam....all the bells and whistles they offered and a very clean running basically smoke free package.

My personal favorite is when on an interstate with two lanes. For shots & giggles let's say it's on 81 in Virginia, 70 mph limit. A semi in the right lane is going 60. The one behind him is going 60.5. Right as I'm about to pass up both at around 80, second truck pulls into the left lane to "pass" the first. It takes a couple miles, as now we are going up a hill. Meanwhile, 6,000 other cars are now stacked up behind this pair of trucks. Ten minutes later, the pass is completed. Finally. But in three miles, the same situation plays itself out again. Wash, rinse, repeat.

We call them tard races around here. Typically the swift type drivers. Just need to get around each other. One of the many reason I'm glad I'm not an over the road mechanic anymore.

I wouldn't drive out here WITHOUT an aluminum skidplate. Especially when I've ran over dead coons, deer, foxes. Rabbits don't do much (and if I have a bag handy, those get scooped up for the dogs). I got lucky two weeks ago - the one day I took my F-450 out, I ran over a deer that was literally sitting in the middle of a farm to market road, and then had a doe T-bone my trailer (the dogs are still munching on what's leftover from it).

At the start of COVID, I ran over a mattress that came loose off 1604 in San Anton, and several years ago, someone's pickup bed liner smacked into my JSW up by Cleburne. People do NOT know how to tie things down. Don't get me started on the number of people I've seen with a round bale in their pickup with NO straps!

Here in Kentucky, I-75 goes from Northern Michigan to South Florida ........ every Friday afternoon there is a Wave of traffic heading south that's almost bumper to bumper from time time in the Left Lane with only a few scattered vehicles in the right lane (same thing on Sunday afternoon heading north).

I live in Whitley County, the last county on I-75 at the Tennessee border. It is the only county in Kentucky on I-75 that's still only 4 lanes. Everything north to the Ohio River at Cincinnati is either 6 lanes or more............. the joke around here is why is it necessary to add another lane to I-75 in Whitley County when the right lane is hardly used..........

We drive down to the Smoky Mountains about twice per month. My wife loves to see the wildlife in the Cade's Cove area (9 mile one-lane loop). So, we stay until dark (and to wait on the rednecks go back north). One night coming home as we drove thru Knoxville, TN, I was in the center lane and noticed a tire running in the same direction in the right lane (about 50 MPH). I slowed and watched the tire go off to the right into a residential area bouncing 10 to 15 feet in the air. I have no clue where it came from and no motorists seemed to be having a problem.

I worked with a guy who had a leaking rear main, people would pull up on his ass and then back off with the wipers going. He never bothered to fix it, just filled it with drain oil from work

I live in Lebanon, PA. But I'm real close to the Lancaster line. I don't know if you're familiar with the Colebrook area or Mt Willson?
My grandfather was first generation American, his mother and father immigrated here. They settled down in an are with a large Mennonite population, moat of his best friends were Mennonite. Pretty good people for the most part. They guys I mentioned are from Lancaster County, Jerry Martin trucking. If memory serves me, the other guys were from the Quarryville area. Both did basically the same thing. Haul heavy while looking light.

Wow , probably came off a trailer or fell out from underneath someone's truck . Havent experienced that yet. You know how they mount the spare underneath a truck bed. If the little cable rusts out that spare just falls out. There is so much aggregate on the roads here virtually every vehicle has a broken windshield, no exaggeration.

People make anti- tailgate devices. Just go on YouTube to see them. All it is , is a universal wiper fluid reservoir and pump . Just like hooking up a windshield washer with the spray nozzles mounted to your rear bumper Put the reservoir in the trunk and a remote button by the driver and your done. I bought the set up , but my wife threw it away after I told her what I was gonna do with it. I was gonna use a mix of diesel fuel and used synthetic motor oil to spray tailgaters. At one point I really had a time with tailgaters I really felt forced to take this type of action. Dont know if its because Im driving a small car or because its a VW or because Im usually driving the speed limit on the Hwy or construction zones. A while back I saw a Jetta that had a bumper sticker on it that said I AM Not Gay, which made me think its because Im driving a VW ,hahaha

Back in the early to mid-1990's my son was in college. He managed a local Theater which was located in a small Mall, typical with a couple of anchor stores and the stores in the middle. He has always been a practical joker ......... pulling pranks on anyone from friends to those he doesn't know and occasionally the local Cops (some good stories there).

Anyway back in those days I was into Beekeeping big time (hint: AndyBees). So, to move the bees down out of the supers above the brood chamber(s), I used a chemical product called Bee-go (FDA approved). That damn stuff stinks to the high heavens. Think of the worst soured dish rag at least ten times over. In fact, UPS finally made them triple contain it for shipping purposes.

So, being the prankster my son is, he took Bee-go to the Mall. He put cotton balls in plastic baggies with Bee-go on them. He placed them in all the trash cans throughout the Mall, in the restrooms and by the fountains. He said the janitors about went ape-**** trying to find the stench ... luckily, the odor dissipates rather fast but will linger inside a building ....LOL. And, it washes off with soap and water with no lingering odor.

True story!
