Record Miles On One Tank

I did this a couple of weeks ago. It is the equivalent to driving to Atlanta from where I live in SW Michigan. Actual mileage was 30.56 mpg. I admit I drove about three 100 miles freeway trips at 65 mph. Took like 23. 6 gallons. It is a 2014 and has 132,000 miles on it without the emission modification.

I didn't do a real precise measure Of MPG, but I travel From NE to SWFL each yr which I know is 1450 miles each way. I've done this for 10yrs in a 2012 and now a 2016 TDI . I use approximately 2 tanks of fuel for the trip,which is just over 50 gals each trip. This is all highway with a loaded car. Not bad for a 5,000lb vehicle going 75 MPH.

No, the mileage is incredible and a very comfortable ride with good power.

A 2016 TDI? I thought the final year for TDI ‘s was 2015? Did a few 2016’s make it to market?

I do indeed have one of the last TREG TDIs it is a 2016.released in 2018 from being moth balled due to the diesel scandal. Very happy to have it. I believe these cars were shipped to dealers and had to sit and wait for the "fix" before being sold. Mine had 1000 miles put on to keep it in good condition. So far the car is perfect. I'll run this till it falls apart.

There’s a dealership in MO that has a dozen or so low mile (under 100 mile) 2016 Touareg TDI’s, but they’re asking $65k.

I traded my 2012 TDI in for the 2016 due to diesel gate and VW almost paid me to do the exchange. Total cost for the 2016 was $1500 . thank you VW. Best car deal I have ever done. LOL
