BIG UPDATE:
-ONE! Set of Black leather recaros showed up, they are going to the first person who pays. They have rear covers. $1195 plus standard shipping charges (see post #1).
-A couple of sets of Blue/Black floated in, and there is still a set of Red/Black from before. Remember these come with rear covers.
-The GLI seats are now in stock. They do not have rear covers, but they are as listed for price.

Blue/black pic from my car (yeah, I thought I got the only set ;)):

My old Red/black pic:

Can't get rear covers right now, they might have to be a custom job. Heaters can be swapped, there is a howto either on Vortex or here somewhere--first person to find it please post it.
As for shipping to Canada, it'll be whatever it costs me. Ballpark I am guessing it'll be on the North side of about $250 or so to Saskatchewan....

Stock UPDATE 19 Jan: Well, all I can go off is what my vendor tells me--bear in mind that the MK4 is no longer made, hence Recaro has stopped making these seats. Whatever new stock is left is what can be found in warehouses scattered around the globe, be it Mexico, Brazil, or Germany. Regardless, some keep trickling in, some are disappearing. Still no Black leather, there is a couple sets of Beige leather (remember they are heated). There are a lot more sets of Black/red cloth that came in and two sets of Blue/Black cloth. All are 4-door sets. If we get a couple guys from the same area that want a set I could find a way to combine shipping and perhaps make the second set free (or almost free) shipping.

The City Jetta and City Golf are still sold in Canada. In Mexico you can buy either a Jetta (Mk5) or a Bora (Mk4). I think Mk4's are still sold in other countries as well.

True, and the MKII is still sold as well in China--regardless Recaro has discontinued the MKIV line :-/.
Great seats though--as you well know! :)

I'm told of two sets of beige heated leather, one of which is spoken for--however, there is no reservation system. Whoever gets me payment gets the goods :).
As for the Passat, the rear covers probably wouldn't work, but I am sure an upholstery shop could figure something out. As for the fronts I don't know--I'm sure you could rig up something to fit but without knowing how the Passats hook up there is no way for me to know for sure... :-/

Ok, we have a very very coveted set of Recaros that was part of the batch that came in. About one in 10 sets are 2-door sets, and about 1 in 50 sets are 2-door heated sets. There is one set of Red/Black 2-door heated seats. Heated seats are a $100 option, but well worth it (ask those that have them!). Price is $895+shipping.
Still no luck with Black leather...

Last summer, when I bought a set of Recaros from Aaron, I was really not sure whether I made a good buying decision. Yes, nice... but not necessary. Nothing really wrong with my original seats, though I could see how after another couple years they'd start to sag on one side or the other.

Maybe it was during my road trip back to the Midwest at Christmas, about 2000 miles each way, when I really began to appreciate the Recaros. I've got my old sheepskin covers on the front seats, and the back seats are folded down all but about two weeks of each year -- so the only way a person can tell they are Recaros is to sit in them.

And that is the key -- my driver's seat is now the equal of the most comfortable chair I've ever owned. Perfect shape, perfect support, and with the thick sheepskins it's even soft and comfy.

Was it a smart buying decision? More and more I'm convincing myself that it was. Thanks again, Aaron, for not letting me talk myself out of buying them.

Thanks for the plug--I just did a 700 mile trip in conventional seats, my wife commented that she missed the Recaros. Both of us arrived with slightly sore backs and more fatigue than usual. The lumbar support really helps in the Recaros, as does the support all around. The nicest place we own for our posterior is in the car, which is a beautiful thing :).
I anticipate a bit of a run on these when the tax returns hit, I just hope that they will still be available... :)

Yeah, there are plenty of GLI seats, they do not have covers--the red/black and leather sets do have covers. The GLI seats match almost any black interior though.
You'd save a ton shipping to a terminal somewhere in the states, swapping seats, then driving back across the border...:)

All leather sets are heated. There might be a set of beige leather left, I'll check tomorrow and report back. Pretty much we're down to GLI Black and black/red sets, all 4-door and all not heated.

(Blue/Black Recaros) please let me know? thanks
Unforunately no, there is always a possibility that there will be some that might come in, but the chances are exceedingly slim. Same for getting more of the red/black and beige leather in the future. Those are more likely than the blue, but still not very good. I got the last set of Blue/Black for my car, and they were broke. As my vendor said, "You can have them, but not your customers". Only thing wrong with them though was the flip mechanism for the 2-door functions, as well as the cargo net on the seatback was missing...
Anyway, I'm pretty confident we're nearing the end of the non GLI sets. You're welcome to check every month or so, but if red would work I'd go that route...

Aja: Replied to :)
