I think there is still a set of Beige heated 4-door seats left. Fire me a PM and we'll work everything out.

Just received these seats.. look great... the airbag connector is different on the seats than it is on the car, 02 Golf. I am not cutting the wire on my old seats to get the connector.
Anybody have a clue if I can get the correct connector somewhere?
Can I put the seats in without hooking up the airbag connector and not mess anything up??

Go to the stealer and they should be able to order you the right part. The connnectors are really easy to swap. No need to cut wires, solder, etc...

BTDT, Both stealers I went to were useless, that is why I posted. Although one did find the entire seat harness for about $100.00

All,

I forked over $500 to have my dealer replace the entire harness inside (includes R&R of the seat "skins") the seats with new ones correct for my 2003 and install the seats.

They have a connector chart that tells which connectors came on a car and what they will mate to. What year is your car? I have a pair of 6N0 972 575's if that helps.

My car is a '02 Golf 4dr. I am going to pull the passenger seat on Friday to see if I can a part number off of the connector on the seat itself.

Are there any more of the red seats and will they fit in beetle? I am guessing they will. Also how much time is required to install?

There are about 4 screws and 4 bolts for each seat, but if it's your first time then it could take several minutes to find all of them. Then a few more minutes to figure out how the airbag connectors fit together. So it could take a half-hour for the first one, then 15 minutes for the second.

And because only a 2-door, it will work better if you have a helper -- one person guiding the seat in from the outside, one in the back seat.

They will bolt in, but I believe BB only has access to 4-door seats at this time. You will loose the forward flip feature.

Well.. after a few PM's to folks here, they put me in touch with the folks in charge at IMPEX, some $25 later I had the correct connectors (6X0 972 783) and repair wires to go with that connector. Put new connectors on the new seats, installed over the weekend. I think the seats look great, my bad back thinks they are the greatest thing since the invention of the wheel!! :)
Thank you Aaron, now what about the shifter boots???

2-door models are sold out, I wish I had a set for my Golf :(.
Meanwhile, I am doing another order with TM in the near future, if anyone wants shift boots from them the price is what they have listed plus a couple bucks for shipping. I deal with customs etc... Usually you save a few bucks by combining shipping with a large order...
This is the shift boot I have in the Jetta:

For a MKIII? I have another package shipping Monday, so if yes I'll get it added.
The shift boot is $125 shipped in the US--it fits A3, B4, A4 and A5 cars. I need to know the following:
Car (If A4 the NB has a different style)
Color of lighting (red, blue or green)
5 speed or 6 speed style (use numbers below)

Well, there is still one set of Beige leather waiting for a home...I was able to score the last set of cloth which when opened up at the warehouse happened to not be red, but 2-door blue and black. I count myself lucky :p

Meanwhile, there are a lot of sets of these A4 GLI Recaros that are coming in from Germany in about 2-weeks. Cost is $995 plus shipping (see post 1). They do not have heat but they do have airbags. These are priced very close to cost (&@#$ Euro) to start getting them out, after Christmas price goes up to $1150 or so, depending on where the euro is.

Stupid question time, not my first or last...

Will those A4 GLI Recaros fit in a 98 A3? How hard is it to modify whatever it takes to make 'em fit?

JC--it won't work in an A3 without some work, please check on Vortex as I don't remember all that's involved.

Sure Mobe!
All euro seats need your old seatbelt connections, it takes an 8mm triple square bit to take off but it's an easy swap. You might need to take your old airbag connector off as well and splice it in. It only takes a few minutes.
I love my Recaros!

Whatever, last I heard most Recaros are made in Malaysia--although the aircraft seats are made in the USA and they have somewhere around 30 manufacturing locations around the world. Who cares where the ultimate warehouse storage location is? If these were for OEM assembly then it makes sense that they'd be in Mexico. My last set came from Germany, wherever these are stored really doesn't matter does it? FWIW, notice the date structure on the pics, it's Euro. Now please stop thread crapping.

Many Recaro seats are actually manufactered overseas, no doubt about it. That fact was never rebutted. But the ones you're referring to are coming in from Mexico, and *NOT* from Germany like you mentioned. Does it really matter in the grand scheme of things? Of course not, as Recaros are Recaros regardless of where they're from. I was only messing with you (hence the 'wink' smiley).

Lighten up...

I bought a set of tan leather recaros last month and they are the nicest seat I've ever sat in.
There is a set left from BB and they come with matching leather covers for the back seat and head rests.

I called yesterday and the GLIs should be in either this Monday or the following Monday. I can start taking preorders as soon as people want...
