Rear window seal

The rear window seal on my Beetle is looking pretty tired and breaking up. Mainly along the bottom. Probably from the Texas sun. What is the best way to take care of this short of having the window pulled and resealed? Seems like water intrusion will be an issue at some point.

Based in experience with Tiguans, the seal only comes with the glass.

I worked VW parts for four years, and 99% of the time - this is true in my experience as well.

Sounds like sealant is my only choice without removing the glass.

Confirmed by dealer and nearly $1k to replace. Here comes the window sealant.
