Not a reply, more a cry for help. My rear sensors were working fine but quite suddenly they are playing up in that the audio warning sounds constantly as soon as reverse is selected. I have cleaned the surfaces but no change. Occasionally the sound cuts out whilst reversing and the intermittent warning beep operates properly but most times it is just the continuous beep which would continue until you actually collide with something.
Anyone got any ideas for a cure.
Thanks Ron.
No, but if you find one please do post. I'm having a similar problem, but with the side assist. It seems to get in a mode for minutes at a time the passenger side warning indicator lights up as if some one is there when there's no car (or roadside obstructions) anywhere near. Can be in the left lane on a six lane highway with no one within a quarter mile and it stays on. Hit the blinker and it goes crazy thinking I'm about to hit something. Annoying, but not as much as what you describe. My driver side always works perfectly. I thought at first it was related to frost or ice, but it now seems to occur regardless of conditions and again, only on the passenger side.
If you go forward and move toward an obstacle does the system work? If so, I suspect, as I do in my case, that its a bad sensor. Perhaps they got a bad batch of them and we're the unlucky ones. In my case, I figured I'd have it looked at it at the 5000 mile service, but in your case, I'd probably take it in an have them look at it now.
