Any particular brand of pad that gets consensus recommendations. Brembo and Zimmerman seem to to be readily available locally ........should I go the extra mile to find something superior???

I’ve had problems with rotors, not pads. The Fre-max carbon rotors to me, were horrible. They rusted out to bits with tons of meat on the pads leftover. I know a lot of people love the fremax rotors, but they are the first set that I’ve ever had that rusted, and had to be discarded before the brakes actually wore out.

what are you doing? HOT LAPS and AUTOCROSS?

If this is your daily and you maybe take a back road aggressive now and again, just go with whatever is available for the rears.
Fremax is by far the worst experience i have had. every rotor or dumb i have had was warped and rusted BAD.

That's OEM level. Pagid/Hella also makes good daily driver pads.

EDIT: I know you asked about rears, but AARodriguez Corp has a killer deal on VW-branded front pads. Already picked up 2 sets.
