One of the tests you haven't cleared is for the exhaust gas sensor, and that only needs a warmup cycle to heat up... this is why I want to see the full scan... I suspect you have some faults, possibly intermittent or pending.... if there were no issues and you drove 400miles since clear, you should've set readiness, or maybe only had 1 bit left to clear... but not 4.... something is wrong here!

Group, I did a full scan below as well as "Pending DTS" on the OBDII module. I am no expert here so I am relying on the groups wisdom because I don't see anything obvious.

Do this, rescan and show new readiness status after.
  • Drive at constant speed for 20 sec. in 3rd gear at 1800 rpm.
  • MVB 100/2 > 300°C (573°F). Maintain this condition for about 60 sec. (avoid coasting).

Measuring Value Block 100, field #2, maintain a temperature greater than 300ºC

Group,

I performed the functions @TurboABA suggested. One thing I did notice is after the temp went above 300 (went to 340) and I drive it @1800 rpm in third gear (which if anyone wants to know is about 35 mph) for 20 sec and then continued for 60 seconds with the temp above 300, when I slowed down the temp dropped to about 270. held there for a bit and when I drove back home it went back above 300. When I reached my house I ran the readiness screens. Happy to say that I am now down to the original 2 codes that still did not clear. Now to preface, I am unsure if this did it or my wife went to get groceries this afternoon, but either way, down to 2. Now how to clear those? Again any wisdom or tips would be greatly approeciated.

Some progress, is still better than no progress.
  • Leave vehicle idling for 30 sec.
  • Moderate acceleration up to 2500 rpm, then quickly release gas pedal.
  • Drive 30-45 min, at constant speed, (50-70 mph, 80-120 km/h), in 5-6th gear.
  • Coasting phase at 3000 rpm in 4th gear (min. 10 sec.)

Group,

I tried to follow the directions TurboABA stated above. Once I made it back home I checked the readiness again and I still have the 2 readiness systems that have not passed: O2 system monitoring and EGR. The other readiness reads the same as well. I am at a loss here. Did I screw up the O2 sensor replacement Oilhammer suggested? Am I destined to go the VW garage or replace this car? I am hoping those answers are No and the wisdom and experience on here will help me clear those 2 codes.

They aren't error codes to clear, they are states of readiness that must be achieved by whatever stupid driving conditions VW has established. The EGR will be the last one to finally turn "green".

Did you replace the EGR Filter when doing the DPF?
This guy had same problem but he did change EGR Filter but still couldn't get EGR readiness online till he did this:
Channel 118 Reset EGR low pressure valve (N345) followed by the 067 EGR low pressure valve Function Test/ Adaptation as Dana suggested. After an hour or two of local and highway driving, I achieved EGR system readiness.

Here's the whole write up:

We weren't there... no idea what you did correctly, or incorrectly.
Log these sensors, along with the 4 different EGT sensors so that we can make sure they are all working.
Something is suspect here if you're doing everything you say you are, but can't set readiness.

I suggest you log all of these to see if anything stands out and gives us a better idea of where to direct the diag next.
  • O2 - G39
  • O2 - G130
  • EGT1 - G235
  • EGT2 - G448
  • EGT3 - G495
  • EGT4 - G648
  • EGR Temp - G98

To answer super1 question, Yes I did change the EGR filter but I did not do reset the EGR valve. I will give it a shot. TurboABA, I will see about getting these logs.

Group,

I didn't want to say anything too early because I didn't want to jinx it. Friday when I arrived home I went to do the EGR process that super1 mentioned and also log the data Turbo ABA suggested. Prior to doing this, just for giggles, I wanted to check the readiness again because my wife drove to/from work (~80 miles). When I checked, low and behold, all readiness sections were passed. I have no clue why they were not the day before but maybe she did the process right unknowingly on her way to/from work. Any ways it went to get inspected this morning and it passed. She is now legal again. Thank you to all who helped. Unsure what finally did not but I am pretty sure replacing both O2 sensors helped and the guidance from TurboABA sent it over the edge. Again I appreciate this group and all its members. You don't have to know everythign to be smart, you just need to know where to look.

Good stuff..... readiness monitors and associated driving techniques are typically harder to satisfy during cold climates, and may require additional driving, etc. to clear all required cycles. I'm sure the recent warmer ambient temps coupled with the longer drive helped. (y)
