Just ordered new Jetta TDI. will take delivery May 1. I saw it had Goodyear tires. Others have the Michelin "green" tire. I believe Michelins are better tires. My friend has a 2000 TDI that has Michelins and he really likes them...wear rating of 400 compared to the Goodyear 360. Should I ask dealer to swap tires to Michelins. Thank you and will keep you posted once I getta Jetta.

Apparently the Goodyears are crap, so yes.

I got the Continentals on my Golf, and they're dandy.

Michelin's or Continentals are much better than the goodyears. The michelins arent "greens" they are MXV4's with a green rating (low rolling resistance). The dealer MIGHT have some take-offs they will trade with your tires, but I doubt they will, you are most likely wasting your breath asking.

Ditto. Goodyears are rags that have no grip, are noisy and leak, OE Michelin tires are round, last forever but also have miserable grip, get the Contis.
