Good day...
Just wanted to know if faulty/warning codes that pops up on the cluster are all stored on the ECU ?
Anyway to know or find out which ones go to the cluster and ones that go to the ECU ?
Also,to swap out an ECU on an ALH,VagCom is all you need or any other tool is required ?

Thanks a lot.

To get the ECU out, it's easier to take off the windshield wipers and pull off the plastic cowl at the base of the windshield. In terms of switching over, it depends on which immobilizer version you have.

Immobilizer 2 instructions: http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/cars/immobilizer2.html

Immobilizer 3: http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/Immobilizer_III_ECU_Swapping

Given the age of vehicles in your description, I'm going to guess immobilizer III is what you have. (more complicated, so read the instructions ahead of time).

And codes are stored in the ECU, not the cluster.
