QR Codes at bottom on documents - watch printing/scanning them for upload

Got a rejection email this morning for my Offer documents (about two weeks elapsed), and it had a reason of "Other/Documents" and asked me to call them.

After a few menu items I reached a specialist a minute into the hold. He reviewed the documents and said it was due to them not being able to scan back in, although everything was there and complete.

He will escalate it up and I should hear back in about three business days, nothing further I need to do.

The problem was when I printed the seven pages, I must have cut off the QR codes at the bottom of each page, which they need to scan back in. Never occurred to me, and I wanted to save others some grief.

This is what I'm talking about (I smudged on purpose for privacy):

So pay attention and perhaps reduce the print size to 90% to ensure it all fits before uploading.

I have an app on my phone that lets me read whatever the QR code says. On the offer letter it was nothing more than the VIN and the claim number.

...and most likely those are automatically scanned by VW's system to make sure you returned the right offer letter. Hence, if they can't read them, the doc gets kicked back.

Mine was indeed rejected today, but all they told me was to upload new pics, they didnt say why it was rejected when I called. Back to the beginning I guess :'(

I had issues printing the papers. I had to shrink them to about 94% to get the QR code at the bottom. The documents were setup to print on A4 paper, which I don't have.

Yes and since that code is on every page, it is probably the reason you have to scan in and send EVERY page back not just the signature pages as some people have done and subsequently got rejected.

Now this post has me worried. I scanned in my docs at 200 DPI on Friday and uploaded them. I am able to use a code scanner app on my phone to read the codes on my scanned copies if I blow them up to like 200% on the computer. It just doesn't scan as quick as the originals do. Hopefully their computer system that scans the documents is good enough to read slightly blurred codes.

I scanned and returned all seven pages (modification claim) even though I only had to sign pages four and seven. My reasoning was that they can't say I did not return the entire form. Bar code seemed to be intact.

I scanned at 300 dpi. I was going to do 600 dpi but the files would be too big. I chose 300dpi because it was the first quality standard for the first generation laser printers.

I just got my appointment email this morning so 300 dpi must be ok. Couldn't tell ya about 200 dpi.

I used a 15 year old HP flatbed scanner originally designed for Windows98 with a generic Linux scanning program. Have no idea what dpi I scanned it at (whole file came to 417K) and it did look a bit blurry but I did receive my email to schedule my appointment this morning so it worked.

I don't understand why anyone would make this mistake--but clearly it's been made. Page 2 of the letter states "You must send both this letter and the enclosed notarized release before your acceptance is considered complete." It doesn't say to just send the signed page of the letter and the signed/notarized page of the release. The letter consists of 4 pages and the release consists of 3 pages. They're both legal documents and they need to be submitted as complete documents.

I sent my notarized papers in on Saturday. It doesn't have the QR on the bottom. I'll have to check the blank pdf when I get home.
