Q7 TDI "holds" shift point @ 2,200 upon cold start ups only?

At 89,000 miles my recently purchased 2015 Q7 seems to hold the (2nd to 3rd ?)shift too long whenever the engine is cold. It's annoying but goes away once it's warmed up. I wonder if this is a result of the lawsuit modifications which it received? Once it makes the upshift no other unusual shifts occur. I know that manufacturers started programming transmissions to hold cold shifts longer to heat up the catalytic converters in gasoline powered cars a while back; is this what is happening to my diesel? At the risk of affecting the extended emissions warranty I wonder if a Unitronic chip/tune will eliminate the problem.

There are just too many to list....
Normal behavior, lots of cars do this.... some also do second gear starts when really cold.

Our 2015 Q5's hold the shifts to 3rd or 4th until the engine gets warm. My 2007 Ram 2500 wont go into 5th or 6th until the engine gets warm.

Thank you, gentlemen. I will learn to live with this. I still smile every time I start to blend on to the freeway and the "freight train" torque pushes me past all the cars in the slow lane!

I had a '04 Beetle diesel before the Q5's and have been a torque junkie for a long time.
