In trying to solve my p0087 issue, I decided to pull the fuel metering valve to check for metal shavings. Thankfully there wasn't but now the car won't start. I didn't tinker with HPFP only the fuel lines that connect to the fuel rails to move them around while getting the intake manifold off and on. I did run the lift pump a fuel times but I didn't open the low pressure lines.

I have this also cross posted on Ross Tech's forum. Here's a link to the post. VCDS shows no pressure being made and the engine is spinning at 230 rpm.

I do have a fuel rail cap (only one). So I tried capping off each injector one at a time to see if one of them was leaking. No change. There is some fuel that comes out when I removed the cap so some fuel is being transferred.

The only other thing that I have done to the car was I had the ECU send off for a bench test. A problem was found related to the EGR temp sensor.

Thanks in advance for any help. Here's the code from VCDS. The graph below is from two times I tried to start the car.

Code:
21233 - High Pressure Fuel Rail
          P00C6 00 [01100101] - Minimum Pressure Not Reached

Update: I sent the injectors and pump out for testing. Injectors showed signs of wear which is what you expect for 160k on them. The pump was dead and wasn't making fuel pressure on the test bench.

Thanks for updating. Who did you send them to for testing? and have you considered the whitbread cp4 disaster kit when it all goes back together?

Welcome. I sent it off to Williams Diesel in Ocala, FL. I am west Jacksonville. Thanks for mentioning the kit...I will definitely have to consider it.
