Hi all! First post. I bought a ’10 JSW (silver, manual) Oct 17th and rolled my first thousand miles today. I've only filled up once so far (car came dealer-filled). I love my new turbo-luxe-econo-box. Much nicer car than the '96 Civic that had been my primary commuter. Wife will now park her minivan and commute with the Civic for a while to improve our household fuel economy.
I've been lurking for some time now and really appreciate the content of this site and myturbodiesel.com.
I have a question about the steering on my JSW. Can the power steering be "turned down" so that the car feels more like a non-power steering car? I miss the better road feel and don't mind the additional effort to turn.
2nd thing my car showed a bug today, and I'm wondering if others have experienced similar. Drove to work. Drove to lunch with coworker. Got into the car to go home and interior lights came on. I checked the over-head off-auto-on switch...it was on auto. Flipped it back and forth a few times and the lights would stay on on auto. Opened and closed all doors...same story. Flipped it off and drove home. It was raining and dark. I flipped the wiper control up to activate the front blades- worked. Pushed control to work the rear and the front wipers activated. I repeated the lights and wipers the whole way home thinking I was crazy and didn't understand the controls. Then I kinda remembered a glitch I had with the display where the wheel controls/data display hung one time until I rebooted by restarting the car. When I got home, I turned the dome lights back to auto...the lights went out when I remote-locked the door. I then got back in the car started it up, and the lights and rear wiper worked as expected.
Have others had intermittent issues where the lights or wiper control doesn't work as advertised but then fixes itself when the car turns off and back on via a reboot?
Thanks,
Joe
