Q: Boost pipes and EGR system

Does anyone know if the intercooler hoses fall into the category of EGR system?

Apparantly, the lower boost pipes are leaking.

part no. 1k0-145-832-r and 1k0-145-834-ac are the boost pipes.

I want to know if they are covered by the extended warranty as a result of the Emissions Modifications.

Since they will turn on the MIL, they should be covered.


sure they don't just need a little TLC on the connection?

Yeah -- it does trip a MIL.

The diagnosis (as per the dealership) the remedy involves changing these pipes - seeing if it fixes the code then look at the Turbo and actuator under warranty.

I'm not convinced that I need to pay for it - I think its part of the EGR system and Emissions system (which should be covered under the extended warranty)

Maybe I do need to see if the boost pipes are showing wear and evidence of leaking...

It seems everything but the transmission,lights, consumable/wear items and "convenience electrical" is covered with the emissions warranty.. Is this a good way of looking at it? just curious

This is exactly the kind of thinking I had in mind.

Re-read my extended warranty booklet and I think the work I want done is covered.

I just need to convince the dealership that's the case.

Checked back with the dealership and they verified that these parts and labour will be covered under the extended warranty...
