ProClip for 2012 Passat Question

Does anyone have/use the Proclip center mount and swivel? Looking for some info on quality, install, does it damage the interior in any way?

I have a proclip in my 03 Mustang and my daughters 06 Pontiac G6. No damage to interior. I also previously had them in my 95 Jeep YJ, 99 Jeep TJ and 04 BMX X3.

They are pricey, but worth it.

I have 2 Brodit Proclip mounts in my Jetta, they are great. My previous 2 cars also had them and I removed without damage prior to selling.

In the second picture it looks like the phone is angled slightly towards the driver, is that how the mount is (angled) or is it just the camera playing tricks on my eyes? Also I assume the velcro is not part of the mount but a DIY job? How sturdy is it just with velcro? Any chance it'll bounce off if you run over a pothole?

It's not angled, I just didn't have the phone on straight. Velcro seems nice and sturdy so far but I'll probably get a less ghetto mount at some point. The part that clips over the clock is very nicely designed and shouldn't leave any damage when removed.

So what connects to the proclip so my garmin GPS can be there ?
Is it an adapter I have to buy or can I 'reuse" my existing window mount somehow ?

Yeh.....The 2 piece ProClip Mount cost more than my Tom Tom GPS did....

The base is pre-drilled with several pilot holes for you to screw the device mount into. You could probably drill an existing windshield suction cup to screw it on there too. I don't mind keeping a 1.5" square patch of the fuzzy side of Velcro on the back of my Monoprice iPhone case, but fuzzy phones aren't for everyone.

I think you'll need to order the $29.95 mount as well. This is all you get when you install the Passat base mount:

That's a pic from the Proclip website (presumably of a base 2.5 S model). I have the RCD-510.
