• The TDIClub classifieds section is a heavily trafficked section of the forum that encompasses want-to-buy (WTB) and for-sale (FS) threads for the entire world. Due to the demanding nature and fast pace of this section, it is imperative that you know and understand the rules. It is also important to remember that this is the only parts classifieds section.

Cross-posting and posting classifieds in the regional sections (except the dedicated thread in Ontario) is not permitted.

Multiple items should be sold in one thread. Make sure to provide a description for all items in your post along with pictures and prices. If you start multiple threads with individual items, they will be locked or combined at the discretion of the moderators.

Here is a quick outline of the classifieds section rules. If you don't follow these rules, you subject yourself to thread deletion, thread combination, infractions, or posting privilege revocation.

    Thread titles:
    • Put FS or WTB in your thread title. This will let other users know if you are selling or buying.
    • Briefly describe what you are selling. Thread titles have limited space. Be as descriptive, yet succinct, as possible.
    • Put your location in the title.
    • If space allows, put your price in the title

Title example (single item): "FS: 2004 Mk4/BEW cylinder head - Portland, OR - $500"
Title example (multiple items): "FS: MK6 fog lights, front bumper, headlights, grill - Detroit, MI"
Title example (car part-out): "FS: Mk3 Jetta parting out engine & interior - Dallas, TX"

    Thread text descriptions and pictures:
    • All for-sale threads must include pictures of the items that you are selling. One picture is sufficient, but multiple pictures with different angles will help buyers. A picture is worth a thousand words. If you don't know how to post pictures on TDIClub, see this thread: http://forums.tdiclub.com/showthread.php?t=286691
    • All for-sale threads must include a description. We don't charge per-word, so be as descriptive as possible. The more information you can provide, the easier it will be for buyers.
    • All for-sale threads must include a price. Auctions and bidding are not allowed. If you want to auction something off, use eBay.
No picture, no price, NO SALE!

    Thread maintenance/updates/bumps:
    • When you sell something, update your thread with "SOLD!" Moderators will close the thread and update the title.
    • If you have multiple items for sale, update your thread as each item has been sold. When everything has been sold, updated the thread with "ALL ITEMS SOLD!" Moderators will close the thread and update the title when all items have been sold.
    • If you bump your thread, please delete old bumps by clicking on EDIT and then deleting the old bump. This will reduce clutter in your thread and make it easier to read. It also makes you look less desperate.
    • If you drop your price, please update your first post in addition to posting the new price. If you would like the thread title changed, click on the report post icon and let a moderator know what you would like the title changed to.

    Moderator intervention and infraction points:
Moderators will be monitoring the classifieds section. If a moderator determines that you have not been following the rules listed above, corrections will be made and infraction points will be assessed to your account.

What is an infraction point? Simple - it's a system of keeping track of user behavior. A moderator can assign a point value based on the severity of the infraction, as well as an expiration date on the points assessed. If you accumulate a certain number of points, the system will auto-ban you for a predefined amount of time. The more points you accumulate, the longer your ban period will be.

One example of points is as follows: multiple threads will be combined into a single thread, with the number of infraction points assessed corresponding to the number of threads merged. If we merge four threads into one, then you will be assessed four points that expire in 30 days. When you reach five points, the system will auto-ban you for one day.*

*This is an example based on the current infraction system structure. We reserve the right to modify the infraction system at any time without notice or updates to this announcement.

Thank you for your cooperation, and good luck with your sales and searches! :)

Hello again my TDI friends, I have another prime unit which I just acquired today at a friggin Ford dealer of all places. They just got it in on trade and I snatched it at a decent price mainly due to the fact these people didn't know what they had. This is a 1999 A4 Jetta GLS TDI with 5-Speed,Silver with light gray interior,no alloys but near new Michelin energy tires and may be original and the new spare is still in the trunk. There is no CD changer and no sun-roof. My friends I must tell you that this unit is very very nice, the body is perfect and the interior is perfect and it runs fine. I really could not find a fault in this car. It has 24,500 miles (out of the bumper to bumper warranty) and into the 5 year/50K DT warranty because the this unit was financed through VW/Audi Credit and is automatically nixed from the full 10 year/100K PT warranty. TDI Club member price $15,750 no haggle price. $16,995 firm at my retail dealership. E-mail me if interested.

15750.00 is to much for a base model with no goodies. 16995.00 is outrageous
I'm considering selling my 99 A4 w 32000 Delvac 1 miles w/ CD Changer and NB Tango 16" wheels and an upsolute Tuning box and pipercross panel and remainder of 50,000 warranty, for 15000.00 even. But then again I'm not in Californi ay am I.

Very interesting stuff!! I just love it when folks here tell auto sellers their cars are too expensive! Fun! When I posted my car on here way back a couple people felt the deep need to tell me I was asking way too much. Funny, I sold the car in less than two days for exactly what I wanted. Hehehe.
FYI... Kelly blue book says harvieux's car should be 14235 wholesale and 18225 retail for my area in CA (central coast). LA is probably a little higher. ALSO, the same exact car in seaford, va would be 13435 wholesale and 17275 retail; yes, there is a big difference in regions. New and expensive cars are the norm here, and people generally don't care what it costs to get what they want, TDi's included. At 16995 this car will be gone in a matter of days, easy.

Hello TDI Guys, Thanks for the support on this one my friend. It's absolutely amazing because I clicked on "post reply" three times today and started writing somewhat nasty responses but retracted. I wanted to get into what this unit books for as you so eloquently displayed but I am really kinda of tired defending myself. As a matter of fact I was quite proud of myself for holding off because I know in my heart that I only deal in prime units at a very fair price that is based soley on what I have in the unit moneywise. I have made mistakes in earlier posts by paying too much for units which I outbid some bigtime VW dealers on and the prices I had to sell at were stupid to say the least. Once one or two of our TDI fans buys one of my units and they post their satisfaction as far as disclosure, quality, and my pure sincerity to the fact that I only buy these units as if I were buying for myself. I do plan on being in Park City in Sept. for the Fest and I can't wait to meet everyone because we have alot to talk about. Later!

Well, I stand most humbly corrected and please except my apology if I stuck a sore spot, In my area a TDI sits on the lot for months and I'm not kidding. People look at you like your an alien if you have a diesel. When my wife fills up men come running out of the texaco to try and stop her from puttin Diesel in that nice lookin car. The mentallity here is minivan. On my trips to Ca I'm astounded at how few minivans are on the road....I must admit there is a much more sophisticated auto buying public out there which makes for higher prices for the best examples.
Sorry again

Hello Deadrise Diesel, I truly forgive you and actually I shouldn't get so upset on these type issues but hey! I have been posting on this thread since it's inception a few years back and I really respect my fellow TDI fans and the thought of gouging or misleading any of these guys is the furthest thing from my mind. Thanks very much for your gracious apology. Later.

Are there fewer TDI's released in California than in other regions? I thought I read a Skypup thread on the vortex that implied stiffer Ca emissions kept the #'s down out west. I see folks ordering and waiting for what seems to me not so "special" [if there is such a thing] TDI's. The dealer 10 miles from my house has 4 TDI's collecting dust. The only one I've seen move lately was a silver bug.

Up until very recently TDi's were NOT sold in CA or NY, due to corporate fleet average emissions. All TDi's are CA and NY certified. Most folks think they are illegal here, which is not true. VW has simply chosen to not sell them here, until recently. Dealers are taking orders now, with huge markups of course. Buyers have had to go to great lengths and expense to get one in this state. My local dealer has a shockingly huge WAITING LIST with deposits for TDi's.
TDi's are so appealing here because they are very fuel efficient. Gas tends to be expensive here as it is, and long commutes due to high home prices are the norm. Perfect conditions for a diesel. PLUS, folks like to have unique things, especially cars. Tell someone they can't have something (TDi) and they will do anything to get it.

Hello again my TDI friends, Well,I have decided to keep this unit because it really is a prime one and I really do need a driver. I must warn you however, that I do this quite often and usually I get approached by a curious prospect who will make an offer only a fool would refuse. But I never advertise my driver until I want to unload it so maybe it's my lucky keeper which I will see you all in Park City with. To prevent the possible disaster of retailing this unit I will have to start adding goodies such as upsolute, alloys, spoiler,cd changer along with upgraded stereo and speakers, descreened, backcatted, insulated, possible suspension upgrades, etc. With some or most of these upgrades added would make me sick to my stomach to sell because you can never recover $ for such goodies. So, how do you like my stragedy so far? Am I a real TDI'er or what? Later.

Hello my TDI fans, I feel like a real rump! I no longer get to the dealership this morning and a person came in who looked like he couldn't buy a bicycle let alone a $17K car. I even told him that I have decided not to sell because I wanted to keep the car as my own. I think I stuck my foot in my mouth because he talked me into selling him the car at full asking price of $16,995 + tax and license. This person had what we call in the business "gold balls credit" so he was financed instantly with one of our lenders. It just goes to show you never to judge a book by it's cover. Thank all of you very much for your response to my request.
My friends, TDI's are very hot in CA these days and I do not see them tapering off untill we start getting new ones in at our local VW stealerships. I kinda think the only way I can ever keep one is if I do like I said I was going to do in earlier posts of going to Calgary, Alberta and buying a new 01 Jetta GLS Lux Pkg. auto trans.,spoiler, silver w/black leatherette and maybe even the cold weather pkg. for good measure. Later!
