I.m in Essex county but I'm usually traveling all over northern and central New Jersey. Anyone know of any stations that have "premium" diesel? Bp ultimate, etc. thanks.

I haven't seen any in NJ. I am not sure why it would be available in some areas but not others.

You can get good bio diesel at Woolley fuel in maplewood.

Believe it or not I found Sunoco "Up to"5% bio at the Bloomfield GSP service plaza. Marked right on the pump.....couldn't believe my eyes.

Basically they are saying may contain up to 5% bio diesel just as the BOL's do at the refinery racks for ALL diesel.

By the way, being up to 5% bio does not make it "Premium" diesel. Premium diesel has additives so basically if you use additives in your diesel such as power service or stanadyne then you already have premium diesel.

...I used to fill up at the Hess in Fairfield... since their diesel pumps are always busy... which should mean fresher diesel.

How not just buy some Power Service Diesel Fuel Supplement (white bottle), or other winter time equivalent (ie something from Stanadyne, etc) and use that in addition to filling up?

And then switch to a summer formula (which has more cetane improvers, since it won't have the anti-gel).

I use Hess in Fairfield all the time. Good prices and high volume. Also the ralstons sunoco is a busy station and there is also a vw specialist repair shop there.

pretty much agree, although 5% bio would give lots of lubricity.

imho, b20 is premium. tremendous lubricity, increased cetane (a couple of points), and some cleaning effect. win, win, and win. supporting a local, somewhat renewable product doesn't hurt either.

Too bad B20 could get you into a warranty claim problem if you aren't from Illinois and you tell them that is what you are using. VW only officially supports up to 5% on these cars unless you are registered in Illinois where B20 is the only thing you can find.

Bio diesel at Wooleys

Funny looking at this as I just went to Wooleys in Maplewood to fill up on B5.
I believe someone there told me their bio diesel is blended with premium diesel.

Fyi for BP diesel users. You can verify this, but I saw in a BP pamphlet that BP will warrant any engine damage caused by their fuel.

It's usually a few cents higher then at say Sunoco on the parkway but it's worth it. They use SoyPower b100 and they use a computer blending system to blend from b5 to b30 at the pump. You pump your own too.

I suppose they'd have no problem with me filling up a yellow jug with b100 and then making my own b2 blend as needed. don't get to maple wood much.

Very cool, had no idea anywhere in Jersey even had this. Cool picture with the TDI in front of the tanks. Gonna have to fill up on some of this next time I'm in the area.

Not sure if they would do that. I would call ahead just to make sure. Post back with your results.
I think they are set up to pump b5 -B30 only.

Yes, the initial list is outdated, as is the link. The thread, however, has lots of good info. A search on google will reveal some good biodiesel organizations that have similar lists- unfortunately, many of these are outdated, too. The nature of retail bio-d over the last decade has made its availability unreliable and inconsistent. There are some other good club threads which address this, too. G/L

thanks hskrdu !

Murray, they don't pump b100. Only set up to do b5-b30. They said if I came in the spring before they clean their tanks I could get some though.
