I think I got taken with this optional multimedia package. The bluetooth is not working well with voice recognition, the sound on the radio is so so.

I'm going to bring it back as it has been only a few days since I got the vehicule and ask them to remove it, put back the stock one and get my cash back.

What do you guys recommend as a decent sound system in the Jetta 2001 ?

Looking for :

- Ipod compatibility
- bluetooth
- speakers with lots of punch

Thanks

Bluetooth has nothing to do with the radio. It is a separate module.

Also, If you did not get the Dynaudio amplified system, it is going to sound nominal at best as it will still be unamplified.

Third, If your car was manufactured with the RCD510 (AKA Premium 8), they will not "take it out and replace it with something else". If your car was manufactured with something else and "upgraded" to the Premium 8, then you may have a leg to stand on.

The car came directly from the factory with the Preium 8 radio but looks like there's not much speaker and amplifier wise in the Jetta. I will have add some amplification and better speakers.

Have you tried adjusting the bass mid and treble yet? I like the sound system in my car. It is by far the best "stock" sound system I have owned.

+1

It's nothing like you'd get out of an aftermarket system, but for stock, the features and sound are great for me. Although, I have found myself keeping the stereo low, if on at all. I like to hear the engine...sometimes more than the radio :D

Yes, the adjustments did help but still find the sound so so. after checking inside the door' i found that the speakers were 20 watts and made in China. I will post photos later on.
