Not sure-I bought a 2-1/2 gallon jug of it at auction in March-it was still sealed,but when I poured it,it was a darker brown color and had a syrup consistency(thicker)-I've been using it,so far so good.

I would think for a long time. It's a seasonal product so there has to be a good amount of shelf life.

The color seems to vary by batch.

Seemingly nothing to do with age.

I thought perhaps something would change with the USLD but I see the same inconsistency so far.

Some is almost clear, some is dark brown.
