I am currently only adding 4-5 ounces of power service to a full tank of diesel. IS this how much I should use, should I use more or less? I am just curious to see what ratio everyone else is mixing at.

I use the double-dose. 9.3 oz per 14.5 gallons.

Use the grey bottle this summer and white bottle for winter. Get a nice funnel to get the stuff into the tank, not on your fender. Hang a plastic bag on the wall adjacent to your fuel hatch to store your funnel and bottle in. Find the best fuel in your area then use as much PS as it takes. Never more than double dose as it becomes ineffective past that point.

that would depend upon your tank size (what kind of car you are referring to).

The prescribed ratio is 1:400 for either the white bottle or the silver bottle.

Its a Jetta, so I am guessing it holds around 14 gallons

Actually you never know how much additive to add. If you can get a copy of the chemist report as to API, cetane index, etc., then maybe you would stand a much better chance. The chemist who ran the variable compression engine and compared it to a reagent grade Fischer Tropsch mixture should document on the report how much of what was used to push the fuel to whatever cetane number over 40. You can then run the calculations to see what your additive can push it further. Sometimes you can get the Power Service claim, sometimes not. Sometimes it takes more, sometimes less. It depends.

I double-up like Bob. Some say that it's overkill, particularly since I've been doing B20 since 11/01...but I've never gelled-up, plus my injectors & pump are just fine and she still hauls as quick as the day Garrett UPped her 3 years ago.

From the 3/4 gallon jug, I do 5 glugs. You know...glug..glug..glug..glug..glug! Gray jug when warm and the white jug for cold WX. CHEAP insurance when you think about it.

I use an old 12 ounce bottle from some brand-X injector cleaner that I threw away. Advantage is the bottle has the long neck that makes it easy to pour into the fuel tank when I'm at the fuel station. I Fill the bottle 3/4 full: that's nine ounces for a double dose on a 14 - 15 gallon fillup. Then I can refill back home where I keep a small funnel inverted over the cap of the Power Service jug.

When I first started using fuel additives, I got 3 8 oz bottles of STP gas treatment (for the gas cars), and saved the bottles. I've been using them ever since - about 7.5 - 8 ounces per 14 gallon fillup.

However - I DON'T take them on roadtrips. The fumes give me an instant headache, and I don't have a good place to carry it that isn't in the passenger compartment.

I have too, works great. But on long trips I use the Diesel Kleen filled with Stanadyne with that funnel filler. I use the plastic tote which seals out the diesel smell. Works well. Stanadyne One Shot bottles and RedLine bottles also totally seal out smell if you seal them carefully.

I use a 12 oz clear PET (#1) water bottle, for either White or Silver PS. Same bottle for two years, no problems. I keep it in the drivers side storage hatch in the trunk. No fumes.

Ha! I bought a bottle of the STP gas treatment just to get a long-necked bottle that I had confidence wouldn't melt with the PS in it. I threw that junk in my wife's Jeep and kept the bottle.

I bought a case of Primrose 409 additive, a little of which allegedly goes a long way. I dilute it with PS White for now.

Once it (the Primrose) is gone though, I intend to start using Stanadyne as it's the only additive I've used that actually made any noticeable difference in the way my car runs.

I used PS White religiously from day one and I still ended up having my injection pump replaced just shy of 60k miles.

I don't think the pump's failure had anything to do with additive use. But Stanadyne, as I said, is the only one where I've noticed the car starting easier when cold and the engine running more smoothly.

WOW...I think I made the right choice...Picked up the big gray jug of PS Diesel Kleen AND some STP gas treatment in the three pack. I too put the stp stuff in my wife's jeep and am saving the bottles.

This will be my first full fill up....boy am I excited!

Take care!
