I'm considering buying an 04 golf tdi with 226k, I sold my 05 a year ago and I miss it.
It's had a lot of maint work done to it, plus recent big things like clutch, brakes and timing belt.
BUT
What lays ahead in the next 150k miles? I'm sure the turbo...
SO
What have you replaced between 200-350k?

I have a 2004 jetta with about 250K miles. We bought it with about 212K.

Prior to owning it it had a cam, with a head rebuild and turbo replacement. Since we got it, nothing really unusual has been replaced, with the exception of the solenoids for the Auto transmission (you wont have to worry about this).

Basically, Brakes, tires, one wheel bearing, one front bushing, complete exhaust. In short really just wear items.

Next week I hit 350k miles on my 2001 Golf.
I replaced all bushings/shocks/springs at 200k which was a good decision..restored ride and handling to like better than new (Bilstein TC).

Kinda amazingly.. original clutch and turbo...with no problems save the turbo actuator replacement.

I've spent enough time replacing brakes, wheel bearings, a few odds and ends here and there.. a new steering rack..ugh

Don't think that the turbo can't go the long run...or the clutch is what I'm saying. In my case these may not be a wear part.
