selling tune is like selling paint job to blind people, they can't see what they have paid for, but if they could, ouutch..!!!
A poor analogy in my opinion...

If you have had the opportunity to drive a car before and after a tune, you can clearly feel the difference.

Sorry from the hiatus from thread and to get to back on track....

Did I mention that I really want a tune? I "need" a tune badly. I loved what it did to my ALH now I want one for my CR but don't want to buy 2 tunes.

So assuming there is a fix...

The question is are any of the tuners offering a post fix adjustment. ie. If I buy a tune loader (flashzilla , Q-pro, etc) load and remove the tune myself before the "fix" while any tuner offer a post fix tune adjustment? Should be patient to save a few dollars, or just jump right in assuming I will be ok?

Intellectually, I don't see why I can't pull off all their "fix" crap, install my equipment and reflash. The only way I see this not working is if they put a new ECM in.

Anyone have a better perspective to offer?

Cheers,
brian

You'll still be able to tune the car after the fix, if you're worried about that.

But can I simply reinstall the same tune and DPF delete exhaust?
If you got a tune with the stock emissions in place it would have to be re done when the DPF is removed.

If you had a tune now.

You'd flash it back to the ' stock ' file before allowing VW to do any fixes/software changes.

Then you'd re-read it ( as it would be unlocked ) and get a revised tune based off the changes VW made.

so, will the Malone tuner I had my Stage 1.5 tune done at, do that for me? I guess I ought to be asking him that question. IF I keep the car, will go to Stage 2 and DPF delete.

Hopefully, and if not we have flashzillas handy.
Keep in mind DPF deletes do not pass OBD2 readiness monitors, so if you plan to pass emissions in Ontario your only "reasonably" option would be to purchase a flashzilla V3 and swap the exhaust on yearly. I'd recommend just keeping the system intact to avoid any headache. Your DPF might get upset that you left it on a shelf, or it might react with sunlight and magically fail a week before your inspection. They're just that fragile

I'm sure he will do that for you, will it cost you something for his time? That is up to them.

however if that is the case you don't have to be so worried about flashing back to stock first, they will overwrite your file anyway, I just mentioned that if you had the handheld programmer.
