Well I musta' put $6k in mine, but 5yrs and 70k miles later, it's still going strong. No regrets, lol, and mebbe worth
$3-4k now (I paid $4k). Economic sense? I dunno' but I grin whenever I get behind the wheel. Still <200k on the clock, I'll keep her running as long as I can.

The claims of the used car market booming don't seem much to apply to diesels approaching 20yrs old.... I haven't had a car payment since I was 18, they'll have to pry my dead cold fingers off the wheel.

Dude doesn't even know what oil he puts in it. I assume he meant 5w40 turbo diesel truck which is ok. He said 15w40. Do they even make that in 15w40?

Either way yea definitely not worth that price. Nice car but that's it

My guru uses 15w-40 on older TDIs, but then we don't get very cold this neck of the woods.

synthetic 15w40 is fine to 0F. It’s a little heavy for an ALH but works fine. I’ve used diesel 10w40 and 15w40 in the ALH and modern diesels requiring 5w30. No issues

I put $10,000 in mine over the last 18 months. Of that, I got robbed by the Fort Mohave mechanic to the tune of about $ 2,500. Work I had to have redone by the Las Vegas guru. Then there was the 300K timing belt change and some other maintenance.

How much is it worth? $10,000 if you want to buy it. Not worth it you say? Well, that is what it will take to get me to part with it. Actually, even if you walked up with 100 hundred dollar bills in your hands, I am not sure I would part with it.
