Im in a huge pinch to get my moms MK5 2007 2.5 09G (Tiptronics 6 speed NOT a DSG) transmission solenoids changed out this Sunday. I have all the parts needed to do the job but heres the hitch. A local vendor sent the wrong oil. They sent Titan ATF 4400 that shows VW approval G 052 990 055 025. If I am not mistaken this will work for my 09A tranny in my 2005 MK4 TDI.
So being that I am in a corner I called autozone and was informed that I could in fact use Castrol Transmax import multi vehicle ATF. This info scares me to say the least so I went to castrols website and their product info states that it is approved for Various Aisin-Warner transmissions with the JWS 3309 spec. Are there any other better options that will without a doubt work in the 09G transmission that can be had over the counter?
What say you guys that have been through this dilemma?
If I dont get this job done Sunday it will be another week before I can get to it and I dont think it will last that long because of the way it is shifting.
Thanks for any and all help!
Just wanted to add that I was told another option would be the Valvoline import multi vehicle full synthetic ATF. Is this credible info?

Why not just go to a local VW dealership and pick up the correct fluid?

I would but I cant afford that after spending what little I had on what should have been the correct fluid.
VW also wants $31 a liter and its a 2 hour drive one way.

I'm no expert on VW auto. trans., but I would think a good quality ATF should be fine. I probably would have used the Titan ATF.

The Titan 4400 should be the correct fluid for the 09G.

The Titan fluid o my shows the VW 052 spec. Everything I found on the net is saying VW 055 spec.
I picked up 6 quarts of Valvoline Import multi vehicle. I was told by a guy that the shop he worked at used it many times in VW cars with no reports of any issues.
The car is on ramps now. I will use what I have and order the correct stuff and change it out as soon as I get the chance.

Turbo after mucho research google has indeed confirmed that the Titan 4400 is the correct spec.
There is not much onfo on the bottle. What info there is I just happened to read it wrong.
Thanks for the input.

You're welcome. I think you'd have been just fine with the Valvoline ATF too.

Turbo. All in all I only got about 3 liters out on the first flush so changing out the valvoline only aided in diluting the old fluid.
Changing the solenoids fixed the original problem but now the tranny flares on upshifts under hard ececleration.
I reset the the TCM so hopefully a tranny relearn will help alleviate this.
