Good news, those that have been waiting, the filters are on the way to you, except the A$ and New Bettle induction cone orders.
The Fine people at PiperCross in a drunken stupor over the holidays failed to include the mounting brackets for these, I have them coming as fast as possible, and will ship these out when they arrive. You guys let me know what you think of the filters.

Valois,
Please put me down for the cone filter! I also wanted to ask about the adapter for the hose that Osidak had tied off under his hood.

Plutogogo is on to this fine intake mod and should be contacting you by Phone.

I was pleasantly surprised when I got home yesterday from work to find a box with my name on it from valois. Opened it up and there it was: One PiperX filter. Only problem was that my wife had the day off yesterday and I couldn't install it for fear that she would go ballistic. The box arrived when she stepped out to do some shopping and I came home before she did. Had to hide the evidence

I will have it installed tonight when I get home.

Thanks, Rene!

Too funny Peter, I sent this to him without telling him.
I did not realize that it would blow your cover.
You aren't worried she's going to hear the turbo woosh now?

Peter:

See, thats why I had Rene send mine to the office....

As long as it's hidden in the computer or under the hood my wife doesn't know. And thats the way I want to keep it.

Rene,
Plutogogo has been acting strangly lately. I was concerned about his eagerness to acquire the pipercross cone filter so I went by his house the other night (3am). I wondered if it was a little to early to be stopping by, but he has been obsessed about the whole Cone thing. As I walked up the driveway I heard somthing like chanting. I know this is hard to believe, so I forced myself to take a peek in his garage window. What did I see but chao decked out in this strange robe. He was chanting something and as I leaned in to get a better look I realized that chao had erected a candle lit shrine. I know you might not believe
me, but I saw him praying to an alter and at the center were two pipercross air filters!!
as I am concerned for our friend I felt it necessary to inform you of his condition.
I was able to quietly place a covert wireless camera and microphone to further monitor this strange behavior. I don't think he saw me so I will be able to connect you with streaming video of this strange 'cone cult' as it develops.

LOL , Have him contact Rgoetz, he may be able to find some work for him on ECU initialization rituals for the 1.8T crowd.

I got it installed last night. This morning, I putter around waiting for the engine to warm up before seeing if there's an improvement. The CEL's been on for a month now because I need to readjust the Epsilonian device. Anyway, I get on the freeway and punch it... Nothing. Wow, this feels really weak! This is really bad. I can hear the turbo whining and the boost gauge is registering 14PSI MAX! Nothing more. I go over the install in my mind. DOH!!! Forgot to reconnect the MAF! Pulled over and plugged that thing in (with the engine off, naturally!). Oh, boy, what a difference!

The car feels a bit stronger off the line and at speed. I had the stereo up so I would not get the audio placebo effect going. I'm happy with it. I will need to come up with a heatshield come spring.

The replacement panel is $35.00 when purchased at a GTG, they are unusually long to ship so the cost of shipping one is $39.00

The Cone filter induction system is $135.00 I will eat the cost of shipping it.

The sintered stainless steel breather for PCV applications is $15.00. I'll include a 3/4" T with it for connection to the elephant hose.

The auxillary air snorkle is $50.00 and comes with mounting hardware, I have not installed one yet, but Brandok is working on getting one in, They are availible in Red, Blue or chrome.

Any multiple item order will net a $5.00 discount, this includes orders with an Upgrade.

I'll take two cones with mounts, 2 PCV set ups and 2 blue snorkels , one for 99 Jetta A4 and the other for a 98 NB A4 (both TDIs BTW).

no poka dots on the snorkels please

Rene-
Just got my cone installed. Great to hear that turbo winding and whining!! Seems a little quicker off the line and a little more torque-y at speed. On my way to fill up with a tank of Pemex. I'll see if my mileage improves. Got the PCV filter the other day. Thanks for everything!!

Wow, I installed the Cone last Saturday afternoon. It adds so much more to the whole driving experience. I can here the turbo going and the sucking (of air) as it enters the intake.
It is so easy to install only 20 minutes! And the girl that installed it was wearing a red bikini! I had no idea pipercross would send there own poster girl to do the deed.
Thanks Rene!

Ditto for me Rene the filter sure is awesome it lets the engine breath a lot more. I can feel the difference at acceleration! The car also has a bit of a throaty sound to it.

Rene the only complaint I have is no poster girl in the red bikini. Just a UPS driver in an ugly brown suit! The only way I can see for me to become a completely satisfied customer here is for the girl to come to my house and at least inspect mine!!!

I gave her first crack at the inspection; it just wouldn’t be right doing any less. She grumbled something about a cold day in hell and bending over no GD fender in a bikini! Hell I would have settled for a short skirt. Sheesh you can hang some people with a new rope and they still aren’t happy! I don’t know what her problem is?
