Picked up a new Beetle for the wife - 2014 Beetle TDI

Hello all! We've just added a second TDI to the stable. She's a 2014 Beetle TDI that we picked up at a local dealer. She has 21K miles on her, and looks nearly new. So far, I'm finding that she's a wonderful car! We hope to put many miles on her over the next bunch of years.

@benIV: That beetle is in great shape! beautiful! I've always wanted to restore my Rabbit to something resembling new-ish, kinda like that. I think it would be fun to tool around in once in awhile.

Ahh yes, Denim Blue! I have the exact same car, except mine is a DSG and a convertible! I have 80k on mine and it performs flawlessly! I am thinking of doing an APR tune on it. Suppose to give it 20 more HP and 40 more ft. lbs. of torque.

So we've had the Beetle for 6 years already. It's been reliable and has only needed a battery and a replacement radiator fan (cracks that appeared out of nowhere!). We don't drive it a ton, and it only has around 46K miles on it now. It gets between 35-40mpg and is still a hoot to drive.

Recently I put in the RCD-330 and backup camera into the car. It added Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as well as allowing us to see out the back when we're trying to get out of a parking spot.

I'm also doing the timing belt next week. It's a 10 year old car, and while we don't have a lot of miles on it, water pumps and rollers tend to get old and crusty over time. It's cheap insurance.

All in all, the Beetle has been a great little car for the wife!

Love that color, I have a customer with one (it's a 2.5L, but at least it has a third pedal!). Very close to my first car's color, a Marina Blue 1973 Beetle.

I feel like this one is a bit of a unicorn, as I haven't seen another Beetle TDI around here, let alone a manual. Every time I go to the dealer for anything, people gawk at it. I suspect selling it wouldn't be a problem in the slightest.

My wife loved the color too. She calls it her baby blue bug.
