Hey guys, show me your phone mounts. Trying to stay away from vent mounts or cup holder types. I'd like to see something out of the box.

I got the "Arkon Mega Grip SM410 Universal Windscreen / Vent and Dash Mount Kit"

Has a sucker for the windscreen then sits on little feet on the dash so it's really stable and not spring loaded, has a little button on the side to release the phone.

I know you said "no vent mounts", but I found this really good. MagSafe charging, with the cable routed up behind the display and popping out the the bottom of the "passenger air bag" trim piece (Dremel'd a little groove for the cable to pop out. (Product page image below; don't have photo of my setup)

No personal experience but I've read good things, although you do also have to buy a second part that is phone specific so not a universal solution. Still if I intended to mount my phone (and did not need it to be in my field of view at all times) I would probably go with this...

It looks like a solid mount and bonus for the MagSafe charging.

Oh, I forgot about the ProClip mounts. I used them on my Corolla way back when for my XMRadio receiver. Thanks for the brain refresh.

Yeah - I got one in my Mk4 (much harsher ride), and it's never come close to dropping the phone. And even with the screen lit up the whole time, it'll charge from like half to full in a couple hours via the MagSafe.

Here's what I've been using for years. No damage to the vehicle and VERY sturdy.
