There appears to be more than one version of the PD130/PD150 intakes.

Look at this pic from another thread*:

EDIT: The top intake appears to be a PD130 intake, pn 038128713BC

See how the upper mounting flange edge is different?

But worse than that, there seems to be more than one EGR/ASV flange bolt pattern!

I made this adapter to connect an OEM ALH racepipe to a PD150 intake for someone here to test:

While the PD150 flange fit a PD150 intake in the Netherlands and is an exact fit for the PD150 EGR/ASV that KROUT is loaning me, it did NOT fit this particular PD150 intake's bolt pattern!!! The owner had to drill the flange on the adapter out to make it work.

How many versions and variations of the PD130/PD150 intakes are there?

Do they vary by model or by year? Or do they possibly vary by country of manufacture or destination?

There is some intake manifold like showed in pic, that have the intake runners design a lot better than the manifold you show above:

Cool!

Have you got some more info on that particular intake?

Year and model TDI?

Here's one:

which according to Rub87: "arl/asz manifold, also used on the new 105hp tdi's, bkc etc engine code." It's coming from UK and I'll take more pics once it's here.

Edit: another one on eBay, "für einen Golf 4 1,9 TDI oder Audi A4 Sie ist komplett mit AGR Ventiel und Wärmetauscher!! Teile NR der Brücke:c38129713af wwc h Wärmetauscher:038131513gf AGR Ventiel:038131501t oder 025212084" -- but he's not shipping out of Germany

My understanding is the slots need to be the other way, but that is only one intake that is different so far. Mass-producing something like this successfully really requires a better understanding of the variables than I currently possess with the PD150/PD130 intakes. :(

Wow, almost a year later...

I developed a dual PD130/PD150 flange:

I purchased what was supposed to be a PD150 intake but it turns out it is a PD130 intake, pn 038128713BC. Having a PD150 ASV from KROUT to verify the flanges I made last year were in fact PD150 flanges, I found I only needed to oval one hole to fit both intakes.

It looks to me like I need to make the ALH ASV/EGR adapter for my PD130 intake ~1 3/4" long give or take, based on the intake's flange distance to the air pipe mounting holes and allowing for my two Vitron gasket thicknesses.

The reason for the differences in the top of the manifolds is because of the different PD130s we have here. The Seat versions are different because of the way the intake pipe and engine cover bolt on.

The center hole is the same as are two of the bolt holes... nothing is different between the 038128713BC PD130 and the PD150 except that one bolt hole is moved outward and slightly diagonally. That's one of those things that makes you wonder why? Perhaps it was because of production issues rather than something on the car?

I think the PD130 intake variety you are talking about is where they have very noticeable differences between them. The 038128713BC PD130 and the PD150 are so similar that they are hard to tell apart unless you know the subtle differences like what is circled in the top pic. I think the PD150 intake is pn 038128713B.

OK, i have a stupid question.. If i bought a PD150 intake manifold, and installed it on my 2004 Jetta Automatic with custom intercooler piping and a race pipe and all that lot. would that make a noticable difference in performance and where in sam hill would i get it tuned. I live in Columbus Indiana, 45 minutes from Indianapolis..

I'd be curious to see what the CFM-handling difference is between a standard AHU, ALH, PD130/150. Hypothetically, a larger turbo would need a larger CFM intake manifold to put the air to use. From a personal perspective... I have a PD 150 intake coming..... In a diesel, MORE AIR is never a bad thing.....

And where can i buy one?
from me!PM me if you want one

and to clear things up the 130/150 ARL/ASZ intake has the part number 038 129 713 AF and for arguments sake we'll say it has EGR stud pattern A
on longditudnally mounted engines found in passat/audi A4 the intake has the part number 038 129 713 AJ or 038 129 713 AG with EGR stud pattern A. these are "US drivers side intakes" or "reverse entry"

on the PD100 AXR engine there is a 038 129 713 BC intake and it has EGR stud pattern B

on newer mkV cars there are 2 more intakes also, theirs 03G 129 713 B which has EGR stud pattern A
and 03G 129 713 C which has EGR stud pattern B

also notice the shorter necks on every manifold except the 038 129 713 AF intake
